GBWe stayed at Yaya's House for a couple of nights 17th to 19th March. There is good public transport into Venice and costs just 3 Euros for a return ticket that you buy from the Tobacco shop nearby. This gets you to the boats that you then take to get to Venice costing 9 euros each way. Guiseppe owns this place and is very helpful guiding you about Venice and the good restaurants (not the touristy ones) although we did not have the time to explore these due to limited time but had a lovely home cooked meal. The house was clean and very spacious with cooking facilities and laundry, shower etc. Towels are provided. Ideal place to rest for the night before heading out again in the morning to what ever you want to do. Buses start from around 5.00 am if you want to get to Rialto market early. The house is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. There is a big supermarket nearby- about a 7 minute walk with lots of lovely fresh veg and fruits and massive meat and fresh fish counters. If you are looking for a room with a view then this may not be the place. However you get a nice place to rest that is clean and welcoming. There is free parking on the street and it is safe as it is a nice quiet residential area. There is wifi in the property.
The house is up a few flights of stairs on the fourth floor so it you have heavy luggage may be a bit difficult as there are no lifts. Landlord said he would fix the tv.
GBEverything was liked simply put. Property owner was exceptionally kind, accommodating and helpful. He goes out of his way to assist which was very kind of him. He had information on how to get to Venice on the bus or tram already printed out for your arrival. He walks you around and points out important places you may need, like shopping centers, pizza and restaurants near by, ticket office and all these made it very easy for movements. He was always at a phone call away. There was no lack. He provided everything. The accommodation had everything and its very comfortable. Comfortable beds and a lot of space. Its very clean. I would definitely recommend Yaya's house to everyone who which to travel to Venice in Italy to look into staying at Yaya's house and you will thank me later.
No lift and was on the third floor. Good exercise though.
