BEThe guesthouse is just a 3-5 minutes' walk away from the main JR station of Utsunomiya, making it very accessible and with plenty of facilities nearby; Having lived in Utsunomiya for 1 year, I can really recommend this location for anyone wishing to easily get about Utsunomiya and Tochigi-ken prefecture more generally. The house is quite charming, with a traditional Japanese style that has been well looked after and converted into a guesthouse. The owner was incredibly welcoming and responsive, greeting me every time I returned to the guesthouse and making sure everything was in order throughout my stay. The bathroom and toilets were clean, and the air conditioning was very potent.
The staircase is fairly narrow with quite a slippery surface, so be careful when carrying luggage up and down the stairs.
