Simpson's Forest - Luxury Boutique Resort & Spa - Kandy

It was a nice resort in greenery with spacious rooms, relaxing pool and garden area. It is a perfect spot to chill and be away from the craziness of Kandy.

Could be better if it was clear whether breakfast and/or dinner would be open buffet or a la carte. It was confusing for us what to expect each day.

It is located in a beautiful setting about an hour out of Kandy, the sunset from the infinity pool is spectacular. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The free morning walk with the naturalist was very informative and enjoyable. The singer at dinner was entertaining.

The food at the buffet breakfast in the silver serving trays was not hot.

Two-night family stay. The setting is fantastic, as is the infinity pool. The hotel also has other qualities: 1. An excellent naturalist, Sandun, young and enthusiastic, who speaks very good English. He offers various excursions and knows the Knuckles Mountains very well. Honestly, I could stay a week just to enjoy these outdoor experiences (we hiked together for an hour and a half). 2. The restaurant, which offers either an à la carte menu or a buffet when it's busier. Both options have their advantages, but the quality was truly undeniable. Everything is very well presented and really delicious. The cocktail and mocktail menu is also excellent, especially if you opt for the house creations. 3. Then there's the restaurant and bar service. Sandamal took care of us throughout our stay, and I must commend his professionalism and friendliness. Always available yet discreet. Many waiters in Europe could learn a thing or two from him. 4. The massage service is also very good. The full one-hour package is highly recommended. The therapist is very professional. If you choose this hotel, be aware that it's primarily to enjoy its setting and activities. Its remote location from Kandy makes it impossible to leave the hotel for personal excursions without a private driver and vehicle.

The pool loungers are all dirty and have holes. Unacceptable for this level of hotel.

The pool is amazing, the view day and night and the free tour. Really good tour despite the leeches. Good breakfast. Room spacious with nice view.
