We were traveling with an infant (1.5 years old) and, unfortunately, our entire first day of vacation was ruined due to a series of issues with the host, despite them knowing about our situation in advance. 1. Key handover We had agreed beforehand that the host would meet us at the train station. An hour before our arrival, we sent them a message, and again right after we arrived — no response. We tried calling several numbers, but no one picked up for over 20 minutes. Then, it took about another hour until we finally received our keys. This was extremely difficult with an infant, luggage, and hot weather. 2. Baby crib When we arrived, the baby crib was unassembled, and there were no instructions. We spent time trying to figure it out online, and eventually had to call the host to guide us through the process. 3. Missing bed linen Once we assembled the crib, we realized there was no sheet for it. The host sent us “bed linen,” but instead of a crib sheet, we received six pillowcases. By then, it was too late to wait for the correct sheet, so our baby had to sleep on towels. Because of all these delays, our baby went to bed almost at 10 PM, and we had no chance to have a proper dinner — we ended up ordering fast food and eating quietly in the bedroom. As a result, our first day of vacation was completely ruined — instead of enjoying our time, we were dealing with avoidable problems. The host offered only €10 as compensation, which we believe does not reflect the loss of time and the negative experience.
