What a find! Gorgeous, stylish and quirky. Plenty of room for 2 adults, easy and free parking close by, on an unmade road, very quiet, well-equipped kitchen, comfy 2 x standard double beds, good WiFi, good pre-stay communication from the friendly hosts and very quick to assist with our queries mid-stay. Loved the Prosecco in the fridge (oh, and the milk) plus the tea and coffee, to say nothing of the Nespresso machine. 3 decent pubs that do food plus an Indian restaurant within a five minute walk, and Wivenhoe and it’s surroundings are so pretty. We really didn’t want to leave.

For those with mobility considerations, the stairs are very steep and the loo might be a bit awkwardly positioned.

Great location, 5 mins to middle of village and river/estuary, enjoyed local walks with our dog. Accommodation very comfortable - really enjoyed the bubbly waiting for us in the fridge. Enjoyed the queen theme throughout the cottage!

This rental had everything you could possibly need including straighteners!

It’s a small property. Tight squeeze for 4 adults plus pet

very quiet street, a short distance from the high street and quay.

colourful plush furnishings, lovely welcome drinks and nibbles, fully equipped and with tea and coffee provided. hosts quick to answer a query.

no parking permit provided so parked on dusty gravel road close by. bathroom cramped ( large person would struggle to sit on the toilet!!) . it would be nice to have information about local walks/ restaurants/ wifi password/ how to work oven etc available in the house ( wifi code was sent in an email but no 4g in house)

Beautifully decorated and modern despite being a period property. Kitchen was great, had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and bedding. Very clean. Cosy living room with lots of different lighting options and a fire (not that we needed it) was great for relaxed nights in. Location was good although like a lot of wivenhoe was on a hill but great exercise. :-). Dog friendly and lots of walks nearby. Overall would recommend and stay again. Thank you!

Steps are very high so little legs / those less mobile may struggle! Individual taps in the shower so hard to control temperature and it kept changing but that’s just different to what we are use to. Some work was happening around the corner so lots of trucks drove past fairly early in the morning but that’s just a temporary issue I would think and not anything the owners could control.

This was a much needed break from the mundane and we were not disappointed, lovely quiet cottage but within striking distance of a big city, clean, cosy and welcoming, thoroughly spoilt and batteries re-charged, thank you.

That we couldn’t stay longer!😁
