Crown Point Home w/ Cowboy Pool 2 Blocks to Bay

The inside was clean. The beds were comfortable enough.

We couldn't get the lockbox to open upon arrival, I had to call the property manager a couple times and leave messages that I couldn't get in. We left to go eat as we couldn't get in. The property manager finally called back and stated that the lock box is hard to open. Then told us that they had unlocked it for us. The keys were never given to us, so we had to leave it unlocked the duration of our stay. The shower barely works at all. The water doesn't fully switch to shower so half the water is running straight down the drain as you try to shower. The faucet in the kitchen will turn itself on if you don't leave the handle to the side when you turn it off. The pool area was dirty with rubbish and the pool had not been cleaned in awhile. It was full of debris and pond scum.

This is a hard one to rate. The place is what we expected, so no issues there, and you can immediately tell that the place was set up with some attention to detail and even good taste. Per its description, there are a few perks in the shape of a pool, a BBQ Grill, beach chairs, etc. Extra points for having thought of ways to add value. The location is not central to San Diego, but close enough to most attractions if you rent a car.

Sadly, it is also noticeable that the owners have allowed this place to start deteriorating. We found some garbage below the sofa. Had to re-clean the dishes before use since they had spots. The bedsheets were washed but full of old stains. Found no soap in the bathroom so bought our own. Could not find a propane tank with the grill. Some of the lights are not working. We had to change the batteries from the AC remote to the TV remote to use it. Most bothering was that the shower valve is broken, and most of the water comes out of the lower faucet, with the one controlling the flow to the upper shower unable to turn enough to get the job done. Hot water runs low pretty fast as a result, and pressure is low. We got around these things, but it certainly detracted from the overall experience. I did send a message to Eddie the first day of our stay, since we basically stayed for a week, but never heard back from him after he messaged me with the door lock instructions. Luckily we had no real crisis on our hands, but I would not count on a prompt response. While a little extra effort would go a long way to make this an excellent place, the one thing that visitors should be aware of is that the house is right by a pretty busy main street, with continuous car noise day and night. I would not expect that to change.

I liked the feeling of home when you walked in. It was a quaint peaceful atmosphere for the time spent in the house.

The floors. We had to turn the water faucet in kitchen off several times before it stayed off. Just an fyi. When you turn shower on, the water still came out of the faucet.

Location was good and house was well stocked with essentials and more.

Location was central and easy to get to. Front yard was clean. Price was good.

Never received a message or email from property about how to enter. Property Manager wouldn't return my call and texted instead. Brushed off our need for batteries in the can remotes that control the fans. minimal light, half the outlets didn't work, fans in dining room and back room didn't work, no paper towels, mildew on the pool floats, and mildew in the shower.

The cooker was not connected to electric so we could not cook, the beds had slats missing and mattress was not stable on bed, the host never responded to questions asked
