Stunning Lodge For Hire At Carlton Meres In Suffolk Ref 60013M

The lodge was in a lovely position on a well kept site. It was warm and comfortable.

Unfortunately cleanliness was a bit of an issue. On first appearance it looked lovely. The dining chairs had covers on, not a problem,but the original faux leather crumbled all over the floor when you sat on them. The dustpan and brush was wet and dirty. The door frames and edges hadn't been cleaned in some time, particularly the main bathroom door, which was very dirty. Pretty unhygienic. The dressing table and bedside cabinet in the twin bedroom were both in need of wiping down to remove sticky marks. The bedding, (which was an additional charge), was spotlessly clean but had an unpleasant odour of fried food(both rooms).

Good location. The lodge was warm and cosy and the beds comfortable

Although the lodge smelled clean when first entering it became apparent during our stay that a good clean/bottoming is needed. Dust under furniture, fridge/freezer needs switched off and cleaned and oven needs cleaned, under the beds need cleaned. To warrant the cost for 4 nights I would expect the interior to be exceptional and all facilities on the park to be open. We contacted the park before our stay to check if the swimming pool would be open but the gentleman that answered the phone was unable to give any details about the park or facilities.

The property was decorated beautifully it was very homely and comfortable

The tv control was very temperamental and the radiator in one of the bedrooms didn’t work

Loved the location, terrace is great overlooking the lake, park was quiet and tidy, lodge was well appointed and had everything we needed

Outside cleanliness when we arrived was poor, needed to mop the terrace and remove loads of cobwebs, also some cupboards needed a clean out. Terrace swing chair that was on the pictures was not there so only outside seating was round the table

The lodge is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake, it is well equipped and very comfortable, and has a dedicated parking space right next to the lodge.

We stayed twice and both times had issues with the heating.
