Cosy & compact Rowan Lodge no2

It was very peaceful.

Needed a car to travel.

Very clean & comfortable with everything you need

Great setting perfect for travelling with our dog with a great walk in woodlands directly behind the site. Lodge was a good size and had all the amenities you needed/would expect and the owner was very friendly.

Everything was pretty much as expected and spot on only very small issue was the extractor in the bathroom wasn't working (but this didn't affect our stay and is more of a note for the future as i'm sure it's a simple fix/user error).

Kitchen was adequate but felt a bit basic. Another small saucepan, rather than the 2 large ones, would have been better for 2 people. The "sharp" knives were blunt (one of my pet hates in most self-catering accommodation!). From my previous life in the food industry, I'd recommend buying Victorinox serrated knives; very sharp, and the edge lasts well. Also, matching cutlery and a bit more crockery would give the kitchen a higher quality feel. Hope all that doesn't sound too picky!
