Ein angenehmes ruhiges Hotel, sehr geräumige Zimmer, frisch renoviert.Das Frühstück war gut ,serviert in einem ansprechenden Restaurantbereich. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The lift sounded like it was going to break and the building smelt like drains.

I spent four nights at the Old Bank Hotel in early May, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable and the staff were super friendly. The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and pastries each day, a variety of hot dishes and made-to-order eggs. There is a small gym and a rooftop pool, and a comfortable lounge area. The mall outside transforms into an open-air market each day, and Greenmarket Square and the African Craft Market - both great for souvenirs - are just a couple of minutes walk away.

While the hotel is centrally located in Cape Town's CBD and a close walk to places like the Company Garden and Adderley Street shops, at night it is probably a bit sketchy to walk in the surrounding area. However, an Uber to the V&A Waterfront was usually less than 100 rand (US$6) and took less than 10 minutes. I quite enjoyed staying in an area that had some character. It was totally safe during the day, and the stall holders in the mall were very friendly.
