Cosy 1 Bed Home @Stevenage

We arrived in the dark, pouring rain. House number was extremely difficult to find, it was not clear to us that we had to open a gate in order to reach the cottage. We finally did but were somewhat afraid of meeting an angry dog. A light near the house number and some more clear description of how to reach the key locker would be nice.

The house was what we expected for the price. We would have liked to meet the owner, it took us a few days till we finally realised we could turn the water temperature higher so we could have warm a shower. There is a door to the garden but it would be more attractive to go there if the owner picks up the dog droppings every morning.

Well equipped and comfortable accommodation, liked the proper sized kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen has all you could need. Comfy bed

A great location, good facilities and near to shops and transport links if needed.

There could be a bit of updating: mattress could be firmer and the bath panelling and cupboards have had water damage in the recent past. Could do with a chopping board in the kitchen too. However, these are minor and not at all serious issues.

Cul de sac on street parking as property owners have multiple vehicles - one of the neighbours complained to me about me parking on the street near their home (parked respectfully they just didn’t like the comings and goings of having a short term let near to them) Not a dislike for me as a small 5’5” female but the bed was small (would not have fit my OH if we had traveled as a couple) and the shower is a hand held attachment with a bracket to hang it on over the bath which was fitted at an odd angle. I did just fit under it but anyone taller than me would need to hand hold to have a shower Bathroom showed some signs of wear probably due to water logging linked to the shower Nowhere to easily dry your hair - no plug near the one big mirror on the landing, no mirror near any electrical socket Entrance area was a bit neglected and you had to walk inches from the hosts front room window which felt a bit strange
