Clock Tower Suite - Central - Near Sea and Shops

The location

The heating! Night storage heaters that didn’t work properly, so we were without ANY heating in January! It was Baltic and we had to sleep in our clothes - for our wedding anniversary. It sucked!

Dexter our host was super quick to respond to issues on arrival (no hot water in shower, slow wifi connection, no bedside lamps/broken table and cleanliness issues ...3 of 4 resolved quickly) Space is perfect for a couple. Secure building w/lift and stair access. Washer in unit. Plenty of kitchen dishes and utensils (no cleaning or laundry supplies). Great location, we walked to everything. Do the Undercliff Walk and Brighton Beach Pier! Plenty of grocery, shopping and eateries nearby (be sure to try Cielo Bakery and Yeastie Boys Pizza!!)

Rowdy groups/noise...not hosts fault but it was nightly! Wifi was spotty. Couch is really uncomfortable but plenty of pillows & blankets to offset

Good location, very convenient. Elevator made it easy with luggage and a pram. Nice fridge.

Communication was confusing. It started well, but 2 emails with 2 different codes were sent at different times. Didnt realise it until arrived at property and when calling - noone picked up. You expect someone to check in, should be available on your phone. Yes, reply on booking.com was prompt, but the wrong code caused unnecessary stress, while 2 small kids where fussing. TV remote out of battery and barely working. Hand soap liquid 5 drops left (had to dilute it with water so we don't have to buy new one). Disgustingly dirty (see pictures) mirror full of mould - yucky. Microwave - dirty. Carpet - dirty has not been vacuumed in months, by the looks of it. The whole place super damp, and unpleasant smell as soon as you walk in. Boiler was actually off - nowhere in the instructions did it say to turn it on, so only realised on day 2 that it was off (after 2 cold showers). Bathroom is leaking, so the whole floor was wet after shower. Had a hotel booked originally and rebooked to this when it became available (thought having own kitchen with kids would save money and time..) - regretted it when we arrived, wish had stayed at a hotel. Thought washing machine would be useful traveling with kids, but given the lack of cleanliness of the whole flat- did not dare using it. Bowls chipped and cups not washed very well. Expected better, based on pictures and reviews. So perhaps they just stopped cleaning the property a while back.

The property was at the centre of the city and was easily accessible.

Was not fit for stay of a family of 4.

The location can not be beaten (although you do need to enter through the alley around the back). So central and so easy to access. Just great! And Dexter is fabulously helpful and highly responsive - an incredible host. Having access to a kitchen and washing machine was priceless. We stayed for over a week (2 adults and a 7yo) and it was great.

It can get pretty warm on the third floor (visited at the end of summer), but the windows open provides cool air. No parking on site but the host gives great tips on finding affordable places to park.

Best thing was the location Near to train station and very central Clean enough, rather than spotless Nice towels Good wifi

It was difficult to lock the front door, the key only turned the tumbler in one very specific point. Quite annoying, specially on last day as I needed to leave for the station. The TV has no channels defined. You can have Netflix and iPlayer. Thats it. If you wanted to watch La Vuelta or any Freeview channel you are out of luck. Or even ITV/C4/C5. The shower screen leaks mightily and has been doing it for a fair while as the bottom of the bath panel has lost its paint along the bottom edge.

The apartment has everything needed for a longer stay and is in a perfect location for central Brighton.

The dishes were not specifically clean when I moved in so I cleaned them. Also the shower screen does not stop the water pouring onto the bathroom floor so I needed to soak up the water on the floor every morning. I think this is something the Host should sort out before you get an idiot guest who does not care.

Perfect size apartment for 3 adults . Very clean. Perfect location too. The contact with Dexter was invaluable. He was always on hand to answer questions and give tips for things like parking ahead of the stay
