La'al Lodge in Kendal (The Gateway to the Lakes)

It was very cosy, clean and beautiful inside and out. My partner and I, were very happy to have found an accommodation that was affordable and situated near the lakes. We loved staring at the stars on our last night through the glass ceilings. A very beautiful memory to end our trip at the Lake District.

How unique the little property is

A perfect property for one or two people (providing you don't take too much luggage, as I did!). It is set at the bottom of a residential garden, down a slight slope that is fully lit at night, and is very quiet and private. Everything worked as it should, the bed was comfy, the shower was good and there is a two ring hob plus a combi oven/microwave if you want to cook (need to take your own oil, etc.). The TV had Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. as well as terrestrial channels. The fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The parking space is big enough for most cars and the street felt very safe. The hosts leave you alone to go about your day but are on hand if you need them. Lastly, it is a simple 2 minute walk via one of Kendal's famous Yards onto the main street into town, you then walk for another 5 minutes and you are in the centre of things. 100% recommend and if I'm ever back in Kendal there is nowhere else I'd stay. Obvious one but if it could have not rained every day of my stay that would have been my preference! Apart from that no, everything was great.

Comfy bed

No clock but wasn't an issue

Spotlessly clean. Secure. Quiet. Well equipped. Off street parking. Very short walk to the town centre.

WiFi was intermittent, but I was able to use my mobile instead.
