When you enter this cozy, comfortable place it is clear that the hosts have really thought things out from the guest's perspective. The furnishings throughout this sympathetically renovated Beaux Arts/Victorian property are a pleasingly eclectic mix of vintage and modern that really works. The kitchen was a pleasant surprise and has just about everything that you'd need to prepare your own meals if you're so inclined (two burner stovetop, fridge, large sink, cutlery, utensils, glassware, dishes and cookware). The Nespresso machine and milk heater/frother were a pleasant bonus for morning coffee. The bed was super comfortable, and even though the bathroom was compact it was efficiently laid out. There was ample closet/storage space, and since I was mixing work and pleasure on my visit, I particularly appreciated the lightning-fast free Wi-Fi. Chessman Park and the Botanical Gardens are within an easy 10–15-minute walk and there are also several funky neighborhood restaurants and shops in the area (even a dry cleaner!) that have a very friendly and welcoming vibe. I have to say that I have rarely stayed in a privately-owned property that was this clean and tidy. Although I did not meet the hosts in person during my stay, they provided helpful, timely communication from booking to check-in and check-out.

The only minor problem I had is that most of the light switches in the property are programable which took a bit of getting used to and I had to message the host for help turning one of them off. Also, the main arterial running through this part of town (East Colfax) is two blocks to the north where there are services (pharmacy, grocery etc.) along with local and national chain establishments. While I wasn't at all uneasy being there during daylight hours, I wouldn't recommend visiting on foot after dark.

The location was perfect for us. We attended a wedding at the Denver Botanical Gardens and enjoyed the short walk to that site. The apartment is roomy and very well appointed and comfortable. The Pineapple House is our kind of place!

The on street parking was a bit of a challenge, but we were ultimately able to get a parking spot right in front of the house.

Nice and very big and very comfortable bed
