Rope Walk Cottage - Stay in the heart of Rye

29 Rope Walk is tucked away on a quiet side street near the station - it's very easy to get to, and with safe-key entrance it's really easy and convenient to gain entry. James the host was friendly and checked in by text to make sure everything was OK. The house itself is newly refurbished and very comfortable: a great kitchen, lovely bathroom with capacious free-standing bath and very comfortable beds. There's narrow garden, which means on a hot day you can sit outside with the sound of the birds filling the air and a cold drink of your choice in your hand. Rye isn't huge, so you can walk to anywhere in the town you need (just roll down to the house from the excellent Grapevine wine / jazz bar). I'm not really one for Netflix, but having it meant we could watch Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was nostalgic fun. All that and Bert the plastic dog, too...

Only piddling little things which are scarcely worth writing about.

We had a lovely week at Rope Walk cottage. The house is exactly as shown in the photos. Everything is neat, clean, comfortable. Super good beds, spacious rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The house is very suitable to stay with a small child as well. The garden there is really a bonus and our little son loved playing endlessly with the pebbles. The host James is super friendly and helpful and responds quickly to queries. The location is also ideal: restaurants, shopping street, the supermarket, the train station are all within walking distance.

Location & Parking .The house was very clean tidy and equipped. James left a kind message and his mobile number so felt safe if we needed help. Which we didn’t.

Property was immaculate, in a great location, James had thought of everything. The decor is superb and the kitchen fully stocked. The beds are lovely and comfy, can walk to all of Rye’s attractions from the house. I would highly recommend and i will certainly be back so thank you .

Nothing at all

Excellent location in the centre of Rye, within walking distance of everywhere needed for a great stay e.g. fishmonger, butcher, green grocer, supermarket, tea shops and a wonderful quirky pub at the end of the road. The house was lovely and clean, nicely decorated and the kitchen had plenty of utensils etc to make it home. James the host was very helpful regarding our stay. An excellent break away, and we will be back.

It’s not so much something I didn’t like, more a personal opinion. The master bedroom has lovely wooden slatted blinds on the window, that let a lot of light into the room. I personally like a dark / black out bedroom at night.
