Puy-An, A Nomad Hostel

One of the best hostels in Moalboal, which is very central and you can reach everything on foot. Lots of space and super clean! Separate showers and toilets. There is also a very good restaurant in the hostel. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This is a really nice hostel. It’s pretty new and so everything is clean and tidy. The dorms are spacious with big beds and lots of room between the beds. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have free water. They have karaoke bar next door which is funny to hear people singing and also they have a basket ball court opposite where you can play with the locals. It’s only 5 mins walk into the town so it’s close to everything and they also serve great food. It’s a good cost and also showers are amazing great water pressure bathrooms and toilets always clean. It’s easy to meet people as it’s a small hostel we made a few friends and had good times.

To be honest it’s mostly great and I’d stay here again in a heart beat. but a few tweaks and it would be even better. I’d suggest to put the lockers actually inside the room - it feels safer as a guest to know your items are near you and also for convenience to be able to get things. At the moment the lockers are outside the bathroom but the rooms are so huge you could easily fit a locker in there too. - in the biggest dorm, the door leads directly to the main road -and guests constantly leave it unlocked , and you can’t help but wonder when you leave is my things safe - (of course they were and nothing happened) but for peace of mind it would be better to simply lock that door all of the time and let guests who are staying in the dorm to enter via the entrance within the hostel (the dorm has 2 doors) and one is in the hostel and one is on the main road. - would be handy to have more hooks in the dorm. It’s only a small point but just would be handy and likely can be purchased for very little cost but be appreciated by guests - it is quite loud so wouldn’t be the best if you are a light sleeper or need to sleep early as the karaoke next door is on until 12 but it didn’t bother us since we were sleeping after that each night anyway

Puy-an Hostel is amazing! The dorm room here is HUGE—honestly the biggest I’ve ever stayed in. It’s super spacious, so even with a lot of people, it never felt cramped. The beds were comfy, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The whole place has such a cool vibe. The walls are covered in art from local artists, and some of it is for sale, which I thought was a really nice touch. The Wi-Fi worked great, which was a lifesaver since I had some work to do. If you’re a backpacker or a digital nomad, you’ll love this place. It’s affordable, super chill, and has everything you need.

The only minor thing to mention is the outside noise, which can be a bit noticeable early in the evening. It’s just part of the area’s vibe and not the hostel’s fault. The good news is that it usually quiets down after 9 or 10 PM, so it won’t disturb your sleep. Plus, the hostel staff has you covered—they offer free earplugs if you need them! Just ask, and they’ll be happy to help.

Really nice, spacious dorm with loads of privacy. The owner is super nice and can definitely tell you where to go to see the best spots of Moalboal.

Nobody needs a hostel whose owner is already drunk in the afternoon and extremely aggressive and who arbitrarily imposes hostel rules that go against the needs of the guests.

This was by far the best hostel I stayed at in the Philippines. I really like the beds - they are comfy and you have much more privacy than in other dorms. The toilets and showers were always clean and working well. What I liked the most is that the hostel is very suitable for people who work online. They have a spot where you can comfortably sit and have access to power outlets. The WiFi is very fast and reliable so that I never had trouble getting some work done online. Additionally, the hostel also has a restaurant. I chose to eat there at least once a day cause the meals were always delicious and freshly cooked. Last but not least, the location is also great. 10/10 for me and I would recommend the hostel to anyone staying in Moalboal. Thanks for having me as your guest🌞
