Peacefulness

We loved the views and the remoteness. The digital detox was lovely. The fire in the evenings was also really nice at making it feel cosy. When we had an air lock in the hot water system, after a few tries ringing, someone did arrive to assist very quickly which we were very grateful for.

Communication with the phone number was bad. We couldn’t find the property and no one would answer the phone to help. Finding the property in the dark was a total nightmare, they should give better instructions in far more detail, or a pin on Google maps for the start of the drive. The property was full of flies, it was actually disgusting, they were all over our food. The owner came to fumigate the flies but that turned into dead flies in our bed, in our luggage. And in general the house didn’t feel very clean, but I think that was probably because of the flies. The instructions for the hot water air lock do not make sense. This has to be rewritten.

The home was very comfortable and.clean.

Everything, it was very comfortable peaceful. The views were fantastic, facilities were great. The setting was fantastic

The location is very scenic and remote. The cottage is clean and very well equipped with all the needs catered to.

Through out the stay, there were several disruptions to our privacy with bakkies and people coming in and out, unwanted noise due to the ongoing works at the Jetty barely 10 meters from the cottage making it very frustrating to just sit on the porch and take in the views, sleep in a bit or enjoy a quiet nap in the afternoon. When we complained about this, the lady in charge wasn't the most empathic and didnt apologize once for the inconvenience caused. She just stated that this was a working farm and intrusions were limited to 3-5pm which certainly wasn't the case in our experience. The directions to the property are not precise. There is no turn off to the property at 14 km as specified. It is at least 3 more kms further up. There is no phone signal up there so the directions need to be more spot on. We drove around for a bit trying to locate the property which was a tad frustrating and could have been avoided.

Adare was home away from home.

The location is magnificent, I suggest that something be done with the signage. The contact lady had advised that we call her but she was nowhere to be found. Although we found the keys for access into the house, we were frustrated until we arrived.
