"Absolutely awful"

Unsafe Property and Poor Customer Service Our birthday weekend at Sillwood Street was completely ruined by a series of issues. The property was poorly maintained, with mould, damp smells, dirty bins containing old food, a filthy oven, a broken shower, a faulty bathroom door, and damaged furniture. The most serious issue was the front door lock failing on Saturday morning, leaving us trapped inside the property for most of the day with no alternative escape route, as the downstairs windows were locked and no keys had been provided. Despite reporting this immediately at 9.15am, it took until around 6pm for the issue to be fully resolved, causing us to miss a pre-booked event and spend the day waiting for assistance. What was most disappointing was the lack of urgency shown by both the owner and management company, both during the incident and afterwards. Our formal complaint requesting a refund and compensation has been largely ignored, demonstrating a complete lack of care for guests and the seriousness of the safety concerns raised. We would not recommend this property

"Do not book, customer service left us with a broken front door for the stay"

Location was decent

Customer service was horrendous, we had a broken front door for over 24 hours and were forced to leave the door open and ajar overnight to avoid being locked in.

"Good but the property needs proper cleaning."

Spacious living room and kitchen.

Hi, We were very disappointed with the condition of the property during our stay. No one came to clean yesterday, and the room remained untidy throughout. The check-out time communication was also confusing. We had received an earlier message advising that we could leave the property by 11:00, so we planned our activities accordingly. Although the house itself is lovely, the overall cleanliness fell well below expectation. Some of the blankets and towels were visibly dusty and marked with dirt, and there was a significant amount of dust under the beds, furniture, and rugs. The mould in the shower room was also very evident, which meant we were unable to use it. Given these issues, I would strongly recommend that proper checks are carried out before future guests arrive to ensure the property is clean, safe, and ready for use. Kind Regards, Elvira and co

"Exceptional"

We had such a wonderful experience at Host & Stay – Sillwood Seafront. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The seafront location was absolutely perfect — we loved waking up to the sound of the waves and being just steps away from the beach. Check-in was smooth and easy, and the Host & Stay team were friendly, responsive, and made us feel so welcome. We especially appreciated the customer service the comfortable beds are confrtable It truly felt like a home away from home, and we enjoyed every moment. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway by the sea. Thank you for making our stay so special!

"Could have been better"

Comfortable bed and clean linen. Heating and hot water efficient.

Was mouldy on window frames from condensation. Fridge door jam had mildew. Carpets badly worn out. Grout in bathrooms mouldy.

"Filthy, and detrimental to health, refund after chasing for 2 months"

It was large with lots of room for guest

Absolutely filthy, I reported this to the agency. Unfortunately because it’s an agency they don’t have the ability to check the cleaning. My calls and emails weren’t answered in the time I needed to rectify the issues. Fortunately, I took a huge amount of photos and videos as evidence, but it took 2 months and a bank dispute to get a part refund. The cleaners hadn’t washed the floors in week, faeces in the toilet and brush, dust on everything we touched, grime on all surfaces, door handles and fridges. The list is too long. The agent who deal with my concerns handled it very well, but due to too many teams requiring good communication, the whole system they have failed. Tragically. I’m certain that after my exposure they would have cleaned up, but check it all properly so you don’t suffer too.

"Good base"

Great location and a huge space! So much room for our group and well thought out rooms. A few niggles but overall a really good base for the weekend. Helpful staff.

The windows didn't open downstairs which was stuffy on a hot day. The ones upstairs I struggled to close. Although it was generally clean it felt like a deep clean was needed. Granted it's a massive space so some things will be missed. It's a little more run down than the photos which I suppose is inevitable for a rental unit.
