Lovely little cottage, great location and plenty of parking.

I picked the wrong day to go! The pub and restaurant were both closed Monday and Tuesday. Nevertheless i had a great night’s sleep.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Your own facilities out the back of the inn where they served an amazing evening menu.

Very peaceful. Huge room and very comfortable in a scenic location. I would happily stay again. The inn is close to the A69 and five minutes away from Hexham, so a perfect base from which to explore Northumberland. The owners left a very handy manual with recommendations for places to eat and visit nearby and further afield.

Pub wasn't open on Monday and Tuesday (an oversight on my part, not the accommodation's!) so getting food required a short drive to Hexham. We were ideally hoping to eat at the inn, which has an excellent reputation. With this in mind, it would have been nice to have better stocked refreshments in the room. Very small things: The mini fridge was very loud and a few items in the bathroom (toilet brush and toothbrush holder) weren't clean. Everything else was spotless, though. Unfortunately, when we arrived the key wasn't available in the key box, where it should have been. As the pub was closed, this involved a call to the manager and a 20-minute wait for the caretaker to come to the property and locate the key from the pub. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and friendly. These are all minor points, though I'd definitely recommend double-checking the inn will be open before you book!

It was very quite which is exactly what we were looking for.

Thought the bar prices were quite expensive. Never tried the food. One electric heater didn't work in the main room. Room was quite chilled when we arrived and could have been warmer.
