The rooms are super clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff are really friendly and check-in/checkout was really easy. It’s in a great location. Would recommend!

Room clean god staff Rashid

Check-in was so easy and hassle-free. Our bed was very cosy. Hostel is 8 mins walk from A2B restaurant in Little India where we bought yummy ghee dosa and idli each morning. Hostel is 2 mins walk from Chew Jetty area. There are bus stops 3 mins walk away on Chulia St. to catch buses to Komtar, or Batu Ferringi, or Escape Penang/Entopia. Our room picked up a very tiny bit of noise from music from a food court at night, but the music stopped at midnight and I just dipped some tissue in vaseline and twisted that into my ear at bedtime and room was quiet as can be after that. Rashi the maintenance housekeeper guy was so friendly and welcoming and was so happy to answer any questions we had upon arrival. Highly Recommend.

The bed was comfortable. Location was good.

Air conditioning was terrible, we had it on cool and the fan on full power, but you could hardly feel anything coming out. What did come out had a foul odour which made the room smell, but we had no choice to keep this on due to how stuffy the room was. We heard scurrying in the walls of our room multiple times, sounded like mice/rats for sure. There were 4 showers, 3 of which had toilets in them, then one stand alone shower. Thankfully we got the stand alone shower for when we went, but as a result of people using the showers where toilets were also present, the seat was always soaking wet. There was never any toilet roll. My partner asked the staff member who was cleaning the rooms one morning for toilet roll and he replied “no toilet roll”. My partner couldn’t believe it and said really? What kind of place doesn’t keep toilet roll? The walls are extremely thin, you can hear everything. It seems the staff and residents that stay here insist on having their phones full volume at all times. I had to ask a guy who was sat in the seats at the start of the corridor to put in earphones as we were staying in a room halfway down the corridor with the door shut and could hear exactly what rubbish TikTok’s he was watching due to his rudeness. The door locks worked when they wanted too and were frustrating to work at times.
