Quirky Stay 10 min walk to city with free parking

Great having a free car parking space outside the property as I was traveling with an elderly dog. It was warm and cosy with excellent heating. The living/dining room was spacious and bright from the skylights.

More shelving space in the bedroom to put toiletries etc

Comfortable and well laid out, and definitely compact.. We used the sofabed in the lounge area - it is small and a little uneven due to the buttoning but OK. Heating worked well, and it's very convenient to walk into town. Towels and linens were very clean. The house has a lot of bits and bobs and they were spotless! All instructions and communication were good.

Minor points really - the kitchen is fairly well equipped but could do with a cafetiere...we didn't see one.... The alley to approach is very dark at night, so need a torch.

very interesting and fun little place to stay, close to York centre in a quiet little area.

parking was very tight, I have a medium size family car which did fit just. If you have a large vehicle it would struggle to get into the parking spot without blocking the other spaces.

A lovely hidden gem, full of little quirks. Fairly well equipped. Very quiet which was wonderful. The bed was really comfortable. The complimentary bits and bobs were thoughtful.

The property had clearly been empty for some time with no heating. It was extremely icy and snowy and it took more than four hours of having the heating on before I was able to remove my hat and scarf indoors. Once it was heated, all was well, but possibly in future it may be worth popping the heating on low before guests arrive, in such instances. I noticed a while back someone mentioned in the reviews that the microwave was broken so I had expected a working microwave. Unfortunately, it is still broken so it was a struggle to heat up some of the meals I'd made for myself. Thankfully the oven worked but it was difficult to heat up a preprepared frozen roast dinner in plastic tupperware. A knife for slicing bread would have been helpful. The only sharp knife available was very short.

location was great a very easy walk in to york once we parked up at the car didnt move

I loved this property so much!! It’s a very quirky place right near the centre which is fab if you just want to walk in. It is also dog friendly which was amazing!! Had such a fantastic stay.

The stay was great for us. The address is small but we're a family of 4 and had no issues. The location is great for using as a base and having free parking is a real bonus. It is very close to the centre but also in a quiet area. The bed was comfortable, the sofa bed was good. It had all the necessary equipment to cook full meals. The shower was good and the towels were a good quality. We loved the decorations throughout the place.
