"Disgusted."

Nothing, because we didn't stay in the accommodation, because it was full of lots of dead and dying flies in the kitchen, lounge and dining area. My wife would not stay, and we had to make alternative arrangements for accommodation . We were really disappointed, because we were really looking forward to the break. We contacted the owner immediately on arrival and told him of the situation. After contacting his cleaner, he told us she had inspected the accommodation ten days before our arrival and said their were no flies in the accommodation then. She went on to tell him that it was normal to have lots of flies in the lodge at this time of year, which he relayed back to us as if it was OK and acceptable. We were disgusted with his response, and felt unable to reply to such a bad explanation. Very disappointed. Tom Edwards.

"Relaxing fishing stay in a clean caravan"

Property was nice and clean. Location to the lake was good where I could see my husband and son fishing from the balcony. They caught 2 large carp and some rudd and bream. The site was nice and quiet and had a few lakes. We went for a nice walk in the countryside. It was relaxing which is just what we were looking for.

Communication - I emailed the owners through booking.com asking if there was any information I needed to access the property the night before arrival and I received no response. Upon arrival we couldn’t access the site as the barrier was coded. Then booking.com had given us the incorrect key lock code. It took 45 minutes to access the property. The owners seemed to think it was my fault and requested photos of where I was. I had to show them the incorrect code from booking.com. This would have been avoided if they replied to my email the night before with the information. There was no information as to where the bins were, things in the area or the WiFi code which I thought was poor as every other place we’ve been there’s usually a little welcome letter. In addition there was a charge to fish on the lake which we weren’t advised of in advance. This was £10 per day for my husband and £7 per day for my son. Again it would have been nice to have been advised in advance from the owners. The owners did send an email on how to leave the property promptly.

"Wish we'd chosen another lodge."

The location was the best thing about the stay.

The sofa gave way when we sat on it on arrival. We messaged straight away to report, but had no response until the next day, and was asked to send photos. Photos were sent of broken sofa, as well as broken (and hazardous) gate. Also, that the gas cooker would not automatically ignite (we had to buy matches), and that the grill would not stay lit. We also left 2 voicemails requesting a call back, but no call ever came. Despite getting an email on the Weds (we arrived on the Mon) stating that repairs would be carried out asap, we left on the Friday without any of the issues being addressed Lodge was musty, towels were thin, everything seemed very basic. Decking was damaged and uneven. All in all, not a pleasant stay.
