Erika and her father Aldo were very attentive and hospitable. Very good communication on everything and anything we needed to know or help with. Aldo (the father) met us at the train station and helped with our luggage and walked us all the way to the room. Right before he took us up he surprised us with a glass of his very own delicious wine he made from his vineyard. We got to chitchat and he told us about his family and his life living in Riomaggiore. The room was very clean, looked just like the pictures and was well thought out. Snacks and drinks were provided which were much appreciated. Cute little terrace/patio was a great bonus where my husband and I would relax after a day of exploring.

Super clean and comfortable. Coffee, water complimentary snacks on arrival. Excellent location in Riomaggiore. Only downside, as with most of Cinque Terre, is that it's a fourth floor walk-up.

Very friendly and helpful hosts who gave us a warm welcome and helped us with our bags from the train station. We appreciated the welcome snacks and wine. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable, with a great view from the terrace. Highly recommended!

The location was absolutely perfect. Riomaggiore is undoubtedly the most enchanting town to stay in Cinque Terre. It strikes the perfect balance between excitement and tranquility, with breathtaking beauty everywhere you look. Unlike the more tourist-crowded Monterosso, Riomaggiore retains an authentic charm while still offering a vibrant atmosphere and plenty to see and do. Our room was a haven of serenity, nestled in a quiet corner of this bustling yet intimate town. Stepping into our immaculate room felt like coming home, even after a late-night arrival. The recent renovations were evident in every detail, creating a space that was both modern and cozy. We were delighted to find an array of teas, coffee, and delectable breakfast snacks awaiting us. The private rooftop patio adjacent to our room was a slice of paradise. Watching the sun paint the sky in brilliant hues over Riomaggiore while sipping coffee and eating biscuits was nothing short of magical. Our hosts were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Despite our late arrival, they graciously helped us with our bags and made us feel instantly welcome. As we prepared to depart for Rome, they treated us to a toast with their homemade wine – a gesture that perfectly encapsulated the warmth and hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. As someone who is incredibly particular about accommodations, I can confidently say that Sotto-Sale exceeded my highest expectations in every way. Words cannot fully capture the charm of Sotto-Sale. It was, without a doubt, the highlight of our Italian journey. I'm already planning my return visit and have enthusiastically recommended it to everyone I know. If you're considering a stay in Cinque Terre, look no further – Sotto-Sale in Riomaggiore is the key to an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely zero complaints!

This apartment was perfectly located on the Main Street of Riomaggiore. It was super clean, offered great views, and very comfortable. The hosts were absolutely amazing- meeting us at the train station, hosted us for a glass of wine and helped with baggage. The terrace was perfect for a morning coffee or beer at the end of the day.

This has probably been the best place I’ve ever stayed at. Location, facilities, host - all excellent. Extremely clean, welcoming and well-equipped. Communication with Erika has superb, not just the standard copy and paste but actual thought- out, considerate suggestions. Her dad, Aldo, met me at the train station and we shared a glass of his own wine together. Aldo may be one of my most favorite people. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Amazing property with amazing hosts. Erika and her father went above and beyond for us. They provided information before arrival around weather warning and train strikes and ensured we were fully informed. They met us at the train station helped us with our bags and helped us with our bags on checkout. The room was large spacious and very modern. They provided some snacks and drinks which were most appreciated. Such a lovely stay would recommend to all and will be back. Thanks again

Perfect location, close to town and easy access to train station to explore the Cinque Terre. Erika & Aldo do above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. We would recommend to anyone travelling to the Cinque Terre.
