The Carew Loft

What I did like that the staff went above and beyond to help us out. They are new owners and due to the past owners sabotaging the accommodation it could have been much better. The loft was very spacious but doesn’t have its own yard as shown in the pictures. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Beds were very comfortable.

There was no TV signals due to no aerials or internet. The previous owners had removed all the remotes and the Wi-Fi router. I had requested an early check in but the fact that the number on booking.com of the landlord was of the previous owners. They are still taking the payments for the bookings but the new landlady had no clue of the bookings.

The staff where very nice. Good location. Good sized apartment.

The bed was very comfortable, loft welcoming feel and spacious throughout.

The loft was generally clean other than a couple of marks on the walls near the toilet and the stairwell needs a good hoover but the rest of the bathroom very clean as was the kitchen. Could do with some cleaning kit to wash dishes and sides with.

It was lovely having a whole place instead of just a bed and shower, The lady that greeted us was so helpful .

Everything was great apart from the extremely small towels to shower with , they were like teatowels . Everywhere was very clean apart from the door leading into the bathroom The runner was full of dirt and we had to keep the door open as when we shut it it came off the runners .

Great location near HMS Raleigh for our 1 night stay.

Alright, for short, stay for 4 of us, could do with an extra toilet if a large group is staying.

Internally it was fantastic, everything you could need to cook, eat and relax.

As a business traveler the place was great. But I’m used to the quiet and need a good nights sleep. The vertical blinds on all the windows didn’t shut any light out at all. The location is on a fork in the road and you get the noise from both sides. Not good when you start work at 5am. It is connected to a pub but it wasn’t open for an evening meal. Not the properties fault.

Some side lamps next to the beds would have been helpful. Also a light in the lower hall to see press code door lock would be useful.

Big comfortable rooms. Ideal for a family to be together.

An extra toilet would have been useful

The property is ideally located just over a mile from HMS Raleigh. The rooms are generously large, clean and beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also very large. The kitchen is fully fitted and functional. The surrounding location is quaint and there are plenty of walks including the South Coast path not far. The pub offers delicious generous meals.

If there is a tiny thing I would say is that there is only one very large bathroom for up to 6 people. Maybe making two smaller ones for the next refit could be considered.
