J06 Warren Retreat

We love dawlish warren and go most years for a holiday, we loved the fact that we had Internet insode the caravan and a smart tv, the beds were very comfy and it was kept clean.

The key box was a little dodgy when we arrived and when we left, the sofa was quite uncomfortable but made slightly better with the cushions

The train passing every 5 mins . No knobs on the heaters No number on the caravan to identify it

Was very cold on the first night we booked for 5 people and was only 3 lots of bedding !

Was very disappointing to be honest in general wouldn't recommend. We was meant to stay for 3 nights it was so bad we ended up leaving the lode to stay in a local premier inn.

the price is inexpensive

It's very dirty, there's mold everywhere, it smells strongly of dogs, the shower is all moldy.

Good location & caravan was lovely & clean & well equipt.

Strong smell of dogs on entering caravan, & when I went to use the vacuum it really stunk of dogs & I had to clear the vacuum brush of dog hair. Vacuum bag was rammed full too.

I like the location and the facilities, and the general layout of the caravan. The shower is really good and the head has plenty of modes. It has a good large screen smart TV and Wi-Fi, although it dropped out a few times whilst watching TV requiring a reboot of the router and reset of the TV’s Wi-Fi. It would benefit from a wired connection between the router and TV. It is only a short walk from the train station and the beach in Dawlish Warren, so it is convenient. This allowed us to easily travel to Dawlish, Paignton, Teignmouth, and Torquay for days out by train or bus. There are good local amenities like shops, takeaways and pubs. There is also an onsite shop which is open between 9:00 and 6:00pm which was useful for buying milk on the first day we stayed there. Overall It represented good value for money. I had to pay extra for bath towels. My interaction with the host was good.

The single beds are only 2ft 6in wide which in my opinion is only suitable for kids, not adults. Due to this I fell out of bed on to the floor the first night. Also, the bed that had been made up for me had a wall heater at the foot of the bed which prevented me from stretching out. I’m only 5ft 10in. It is described as “dog friendly” and we could definitely tell that as soon as we opened the door. We could tell that dogs had stayed there before, and I would say recently. We could smell dogs throughout the caravan, and found dog hairs on the sofas and on the double bed. The whole caravan needs a deep clean. I had to open all the windows to the ventilation position and leave them like this throughout the 5 days to make our stay at least bearable. Also, none of the crockery had been cleaned properly. We had to buy our own washing up liquid to wash all the crockery before we could use it.

Location was good, shop, deli and a thai street food stall (food was so delicious) in 8min walk and lovely cafe (food also delicious and generous potion) just before. Caravan decoration was nice despite the damages.

The train passes every 20-30 minutes, the pool was shut on our stay, we only had use of two out of three bedrooms due to bed being broken and one missing, therefore boys had to sleep in the living room which I wasn't informed about! it was clean but not to a good standard few damages I took photos of on arrived. It was ok for the price I paid. Didn't get to explore much due to few problems with barclays but we will return to Dawlish again.

Well maintained caravan, excellent location and quiet. Ease of access and communication from the hosts.
