The noise from another room upstairs was terrible felt like the roof was going to fall in and moving furniture all night!! We didn't sleep much 😴 No lift

Had a big room with quiet and great A/C. Dinner was wonderful at hotel. The staff was lovely.

Stayed here with a party of 26 on a cycle tour from Bordeaux to Sete. Welcoming and very helpful staff. Delicious dinner - although a large party we could choose from the full menu and it was all good. Free parking in large car park beside hotel, also covered secure parking available. The only downside is that the WiFi is dependant on individual codes which keep having to be reset - very annoying and there are better alternatives.

Stayed in this part of France for 7 days and went to a different restaurant each evening. Of the seven visited this was by far the worst although, out of fairness, I have rated it Average. Service was slow and staff not so friendly as in other restaurants. The meal was also average except for the deserts which were terrible and there was only a choice of two. One was a fresh fruit salad served in a tiny dish the size of two egg-cups and containing a few grapes with small pieces of apple and melon. The other choice was a strange item of a flat sweet biscuit and a mound of whipped cream on top sprinkled with chocolate flakes. I would not want to eat there again.

As part of a bicycling tour we stayed at the Lion D'Or. The rooms were clean with good sized bathrooms and air-conditioning (welcome because of the very hot weather). There is a bar area and an adjoining restaurant. The restsurant has a good range of food and is good value for money. We decided to eat there because of the weather and had enjoyable meals. Breakfast consisted of cereal, bread, croissants, scrambled eggs, fruit juice, tea and coffee served as a buffet. While the juice was topped up, the croissants and bread ran out and were not relaced while we were there. While yhe hotel has wi-fi we had difficulty getting it to work, and it kept dropping out.

We stopped at this hotel on a Sunday evening and were not impressed at all. We arrived at about 6pm and the welcome was reasonable. Then we found that the restaurant was not open on Sunday evenings. No useful advice about where we could eat that evening was available from the reception staff. We were given directions to two other restaurants but on arriving at these found that they, too, were both closed on Sunday evenings. We found a restaurant that was open and after dinner returned to the hotel. Our room was small but acceptable and reasonably comfortable but the bathroom was poor. Plumbing changes had been made and were not complete. There were signs that something, probably a bidet, had been removed. There were un-filled fixing holes in the floor and capped pipe-ends close to the wall. There was a hole in the floor, probably for the waste water outlet, blocked with a quantity of toilet paper but hidden from immediate view by having the waste bin placed above. The hand-basin hot and cold taps were interchanged. Breakfast in the morning was self-service buffet style but was poor. There was a coffee-making machine which was slow in operation so that there was a queue to get coffee. Several people had problems with the machine, leaving it with their cups while hot water was still flowing. The coffee was hot and of good flavour. Orange juice was available but was warm and did not taste fresh. There were no croissants and the pains aux chocolate were undercooked. Finally, the baguettes were soft, not crisp. All in all, a disastrous breakfast

When in Marmande follow the recommendation of the Guide Michelin and have lunch here! Entering from the Rue de la Republique ( which is currently being dug up!) we followed the noise of food being enjoyed into a room beyond and to the right of reception. We had not booked but were soon shown to one of the few remaining tables and offered an aperitif. Instead we each chose a glass of wine to suit our plats. From the 24 € lunchtime menu I chose the fish and Mme had duck. We were brought an introductory "amuse bouche?" of creamed beetroot and onion with a prune wrapped in bacon. For an entree I had an absolutely delicious black pudding tartelette and Mme chose seafood spring rolls with salad and cream sauce which she very much enjoyed. Our plats du jour were very well presented and really tasty. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. Mme had excellent goats cheese to finish. Cote de Marmande red and Buzet white wines were excellent. Overall we were well pleased with Monsieur Michelin and the chef and staff of the Logis du Lion d'Or

We stayed here for one night during a cycling holiday. Clean, spacious room with good a/c (which we really needed as the weather was so hot). Very helpful staff and secure bike parking in hotel garage. Ideally situated for good local restaurants. Only gripes - there's not a lot to see in Marmande and the wi-fi was pretty flaky
