We like the warm welcome of the host. They are very helpful, even drove us to the train station when we left. We really love the place, it felt like staying at home. Also worth to visit the owner gallery, there are lots of beautiful and interesting pieces.

The owner couldn’t have been more helpful. He took our bags way before checkin and was very responsive to messages we sent back and forth when we were searching for dinner options. He’s a very interesting artist and has renovated this small house beautifully, with many careful details throughout. It’s excellent value for the money. He speaks English very well and the place was spotlessly clean. Just in case anyone else was wondering, it does have a western-style toilet and you will have it all to yourself (other accomodations called guesthouses in Japan in my experience involved shared living spaces and shared bathrooms, which wasn’t suitable for us). Hope that helps to clarify the setup. It’s also very quiet.

Great house, it’s a built 100 years ago, but still in excellent condition. The host is super nice. Superb hospitality. It’s will be a miss if you don’t choose to stay here.
