"The property was awesome."

There were two stickers for the car in the drawer with instructions on them. Those instructions were not the ones the owner wanted me to use. The stickers should have been left in two separate envelopes and instructions provided. Do not depend on the client to read a page email ftom booking.com on all the property details. Keep it simple.

Good price, huge, location in downtown, good if you want to stay couple days.

Instructions on how to get to the room were really tricky. Getting to the apartment and parking is hard. It took us 1,5 hours. We couldnt find a parking spot outside of the building for a long time, you can not go straight to the parking because you need special passes that are in the kitchen. When I entered the building there was no concierge I waited for him for more than 30 minutes. You need him to let you up the elevator. After that I waited for the elevator which also took a while. If you want a fast and easy check in this is not for you. We had a fire alarm at 10 pm which asked us to go down the stairs from 23rd floor. We met neighbour who said they are staying in their room because this happens all the time. In the end there was no fire and the alarm went on for 20-25 minutes. The next day elevators were of and we had to climb the stairs to 23rd floor.

"The host wasn't helpful and I lost out on money."

I booked this reservation last minute due to my power going out because of Hurricane Milton and I have a 10 month old baby. The check in was for 4pm, I asked the host if we can check in early. He informed me at 12:45pm that I can check in now but the apartment is NOT clean and the cleaners will NOT be coming to the property but he’ll waive the early check in fee if that’s okay. Red flag number one was the host thinking it’s okay to just let someone book without it being cleaned. What if I never asked for an early check-in? When would he have informed me the cleaners aren’t coming? He also let me know the elevators are shut down but they’re working on getting them restored. I told him it’s unfair someone is getting charged a cleaning fee but it’s not even getting used to clean the place for the next guest. He stated it’s no cleaning fee in the price, however, in my price breakdown it was an $115 cleaning fee, $5 wash cloth fee, and $10 linen fee. Red flag number two was his response saying he recommends I cancel if it’s an issue with me staying in an UNCLEAN apartment. I asked if it’ll be a FULL refund, he didn’t respond as quickly as before so my boyfriend said let’s just go due to it being no hotels and this is our only resort so I agreed I’ll just clean myself and check in. He writes back immediately and asks if I’m sure because he claimed he was working on a refund but we were already pulling up to the apartment. Sidenote: We been in the car for hours with a crying baby so we just wanted to get settled in asap! He then told me he had great reviews and doesn’t want that to stop and that was red flag number three. He assumed already that I would write a bad review when my issue hasn’t even started yet. He then asks am I okay with the cleaning team coming the following day and I said YES and he responds “he’ll contact them to see if they can come.” By now I already went into the building to check-in. Per his check-in instructions, I was informed to go to the

concierge, let them know I’m with (residential unit) and they will call and verify, then let me up to the apartment. However, nobody was at the concierge desk and I told the host that and his response was he’ll call or if I see a tenant just enter the elevator with them or take the stairs. Red flag number four. The host wanted me to ask somebody who lives there to just let a random upstairs when that’s the REASON for having a personal fob that ONLY certain people can access. So I immediately felt uncomfortable, not to mention, in his direct instructions, it told me concierge will be able to let me up. I decided to take the stairs and ended up going in a door where I got locked in and almost had a panic attack. I had to call my boyfriend to come open the door from the outside. Another reason why I felt extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention, it’s on the 23rd floor, I have a 10 month old baby. What if I got stuck in the staircase with just him and I? At this point, I admit I’m unpatient and I tell him he can cancel my reservation. I tried calling, he doesn’t answer the phone and I have to wait on a text message to figure out what to do next. This is when the attitude really changed and he told me cancel it myself (meaning no refund but earlier I could cancel myself & he was “working on a refund”) I tried explaining my issue wasn’t until I got to the hotel and was told to ask a stranger to let me into the building and also being trapped in the staircase! I told him if necessary I will file a small claims to get my money back and also said I will turn the place upside down. MEANING, I’m going to complain and talk BAD about this company! Never insinuated I will “wreck” the place as the host assumed. He then started saying he’ll sue me and return home and I’m not welcomed in the listing anymore. The bigger issue came when his final message to me was “When I saw your messages and matched with your name I knew you would be a problem.” RACISM RACISM RACISM!!!!!!
