"Lovely apartment, host was very helpful and friendly."

8.0

It was central and easy access to everything.

It could be noisy with pub across road and deli / bakery in morning. But price to pay for ideal location.

"Great choice for St Ives"

9.0

Our two night stay at The Loft exceeded our expectations. The apartment was nestled a block or two outside the tourist section of town making our stay very quiet yet close to everything. It's walking distance to grocery stores, bakeries, cafes and restaurants. The apartment is nicely decorated, spacious and as described, full of light when the sun is shining. Our bed was comfortable. The apartment was very clean. Strong wifi connection. Access to a washing machine was a bonus. If staying here you should come prepared to bring your own cleaning and cooking supplies, including bath soap, salt/pepper, oil.

This apartment would be perfect if basic supplies were provided such as salt/pepper/oil and body wash/soap & shampoo for the bathroom.

"Disappointing stay overall - Could be a real gem if invested in"

4.0

the location was brilliant and beds were comfy. The fire stick on the TV was a bonus

Where to start. the cleanliness is well below par, everything needs a good clean. The property needs money spending on it to bring it up to standard. there was broken lights, games provided that didn’t work. The windows need replacing to double glazing to limit noise. The bathroom velux window is full of bugs and cobwebs and the bath has mould on it. The bedroom windows are dusty and the blinds have dead insects stuck to them. The laminate floor in the lounge area is uneven and raised and poses a trip hazard. The beams in this room are beautiful but full of dust. The extractor over the hob is full of grease . Misleadingly the property owner is using old photos to advertise as the property no longer looks like that, nor is half the facilities there anymore. the most disappointing parts of the stay was we were left with no hot water in the bathroom other than the shower , therefore could not wash or shave in the bathroom or have a bath during our stay. we reported this to the owner and after chasing up we were told there was no plumber available to fix this. I scratched my leg on an exposed spring in the mattress in the main bedroom, the owner is aware of this as it was mentioned in another review. we could not use all the dining room furniture as one chair had a cracked leg. there is also a lamp in the living room which doesn’t work. we like to keep our holiday rental clean whilst we’re there and couldn’t use the hoover as it was blocked and broken. we contacted the owner and he said he would be in touch to see if we could be given another but nothing ever materialised, Then there’s the seagulls , the noise from them is like nothing I have ever experienced and I’ve been visiting St Ives for over 18 years. I barely slept any night as the noise is constant, the property would benefit from being double glazed in the bedrooms which might help a lot .

"The negatives might make you feel we did not enjoy our time at the house, this is not the case. The location is great a"

4.0

The property is in a fantastic location in the centre of St Ives. Minutes away from the centre of activity in the town. The house has so much potential. It has a lovely open living room / kitchen space and good cooking facilities - although the microwave needs replaced - rust on facing actually flaking off. Unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives but with a little work it could quickly be a property that could be highly recommended. As an aside, although there are no parking facilities I would recommend purchasing a county wide Rover ticket. Covers parking in most towns region wide and in the evenings we normally found we could get parking in Park Avenue which is a ‘brisk’ 10 minute walk up the hill.

The house needs some work and it was not the cleanest on our arrival. Key point on our visit was the mattress in the main bedroom. The owner was alerted within a couple of days of our arrival that a spring was fully exposed (see photo) - my wife 3/4 times during our visit caught her leg on this. This had clearly been identified prior to our visit as some black tape had been put on it. The owner responded promptly that this would be dealt with but it was not replaced - we were there for 3 weeks! This was dangerous and should have been dealt with promptly. The bathroom has mould around the bath and a cracked tile. The wooden floor in the living area has clearly had plenty of water damage as most of the boards are swollen in the kitchen area. Also there is a small step from the living room that would be a trip hazard for anyone with sight issues - this should be identified (tape?). The decor in the rooms is unusual - not a major issue but something that could easily be fixed to make the rooms more attractive. The gulls!!! Not a fault, just something you need to be aware of. Most nights the gulls are noisy all night - you can get used to it but if you think you won’t then I would recommend ear plugs. I had no issues but my wife really struggled. Instructions - there are none! Nothing for tv, cooker, sound system.. Some wee touches would change the experience for visitors significantly.

"Very good value for the money. Apartment in general is nice."

8.0

Location is great. Friendly host (at least via online contact). Spacious apartment.

Could do with some New towels without old stains on it, maybe some basic shower gel added in the bathroom as there is only hand soap. Not sure if the fridge was working (no light inside and hardly detectable coolness) and it would be useful as we had some sandwiches to store.

I like the location of this property. It’s very center of city centre.

The rooms were very dusty. If you are allergic to dust then it’s not for you.

Location and space. Felt homely but still airy and bright, and great location in the centre of St Ives. Communication was great from the host, Josh.
