River Cottage Brecon: Hot Tub, Fire, Balcony, Wifi

Beautiful and comfortable cottage in a stunning location.

The house itself was great once we sorted out our unfamiliarity with the radiators. Facilities were great, accommodation was clean. Owner was very prompt with response to queries.Countryside and scenery was great.

It was a little bit further out of town than we thought. As an international visitor, the narrow winding roads into Brecon took a little getting used to, but hey we are still here.

The property was stunning, clean well kept and the location and views are stunning

The hot tub was amazing and the stream running by the property

self catered.

Disliked the clock chiming every 15 minutes but over all it was a lovely stay in a beautiful location, I would go again.

The Location

The accommodation is actually called Mill Cottage & not Riverside Cottage, this caused some confusion on arrival. The boiler, held together with gaffer tape, looked to be in a state of disrepair & potentially dangerous. Overall, this is a beautiful property, however cleaning is not the the best standard, there is an empty can of pop alongside the boiler, table confetti on the rug in the first single bedroom, also the bed is in an appalling state with stains if dried bodily fluid, (i have a photo if you'd like to see) a plastic "pull here" tab on the floor in the lounge & general dirt where the sofa by the fireplace has not been vacuumed under. The main bathroom, bath panel looks awful, easy job to tidy up. Only one jet worked on the hot tub, the cover was splitting & breaking up underneath, its position is awkward to remove & replace, we'd booked specifically a cottage with a hot tub & that didn't live up to our expectations.

Beautiful quiet rural location, not TOO far from amenities - about 10-15 minutes drive. Stunning river and balcony to enjoy it. Cottage was huge inside compared with what it looked like from the front. Two bathrooms were convenient. Exposed beams and brick walls were gorgeous. Plenty of space. Kitchen was well equipped. Hot tub was divine though bubbles weren't the strongest. The whole setting and inside space was great, cosy and so comfortable. Sian the host was fast to respond.. I'd stay again without hesitation. Such a lovely retreat.

Disliked Very little. Shower wasn't strong spray, upstairs squeaky floorboards, parking space was only for a small car, curtains in two bedrooms didn't prevent much light, minor decor issues. Absolutely nothing to stop us recommending staying here.

It was lovely and homely, in a quiet location with what we needed, the cottage was amazing, plenty of crockery, river & views, privacy. Clean & amazing furniture & plenty of light.

Pretty cottage and good location. Comfortable furnishings.

Property was freezing on arrival it was minus 4 and snowing, not enough logs provided. radiator in dining room didn't work, making room unusable , all of the property needed a deep clean and running repairs. Shower in ensuite loses power, plug in bath not working, making drainage difficult. I initially thought the bedding hadn't been changed, but just poorly laundered and not pressed. Parking was only suitable for a very small vehicle. No privacy in the hot tub, a screen across the gate would benefit the situation.

Beautiful property, amazing location and just an all-around perfect escape!

The most beautiful property in a gorgeous spot. Waking up to the sound of the river in a very comfy bed. Property was warm and welcoming. Fire was absolutely wonderful with lots of wood provided. Will definitely be back ☺️
