Ticked the boxes we needed for a decent price . Was clean and communication regarding check in was concise.. The self serve breakfast worked well . Well positioned for the west end of Hadrians wall and had lots of information books and leaflets about this.

Great location with lovely walks everywhere! The room was clean and plenty of space, we had our 2 dogs with us and still didn’t feel cramped at all. The self service breakfast was readily available and the onsite manager Chris kept everything freshly replenished every morning. Chris was lovely, friendly and helpful when needed but also ensured you are given privacy, we never felt observed at all and came and went as we pleased. Communication with the owner throughout the booking was also very good.

It was just off the path of walking Hadrian's Wall, We were sent a message on day of arrival with a code for self service checking in which was very easy, & told it was self service continental breakfast in morning. H ad luggage transfer and our luggage was in doorway, all good. Room was clean, but very old fashioned and need of a refurb and a bit of TLC, we did notice tho that it is up for sale, so can understand they are just getting by renting out rooms as they are.

Nothing at all in Port Carlisle, although we did know this on booking, and we had to walk a mile to get food in Bowness in Solway, even if this was on last day of walking... No towels in our room, so I had to go in the other empty rooms which were open and see it i could find any towels, found one and a dish towel, which we made do with... not the best. Was told it was self service continental breakfast !!! brown bread, cereal, tea or coffee, mouldy fruit, pre- wrapped shop bough crossiants, not the best. The table was set up for guests, but the flowers in centre of table were dying and no fresh water in them, was very off putting.. We had to wait for a bus on checkout, so just waited in lounge, could here someone in the back, either watching tv or on their phone watching videos, you would have thought they would have came and said Hello, not very friendly being ignored, and was a bit spooking knowing someone was in next room, glad we only stayed one night, would not stay here again.

The location was ideal for us as we were walking Hadrians Wall walk and were starting in Bowness. The rooms were decent with tea/coffee etc and there is a seating area downstairs which is spacious should you have large camping bags or bikes etc.

The rooms were strange, just beds in odd rooms really. Breakfast is a little sporadic, It isn't a hotel, this is what caught me out. It is a self service hostel, which is fine, but caught me off guard

Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame locatiemanager. Leuke en informatieve lectuur in een huiselijke algemene ruimte.

Het hotel is enigszins verouderd en kan wel wat modernisering gebruiken.

Großes Zimmer mit Küche

Bett war zu weich, Badezimmer außerhalb, Räume recht hellhörig. Frühstück war recht einfach. Dafür war der Preis zu hoch.
