The Hay Barn - Hopewell

The Hay Barn was a great place to stay, it was spacious, provided nearly all the facilities you would need for a comfortable stay and was in a quite, secluded location. It felt remote but was so close to everything you needed. It was warm, cosy and I loved saying hello to the resident alpacas nearby. I would certainly consider staying at this place again and recommend it.

The pillows were too soft for my liking but that is a personal point. The remotes for the TV were very fiddly and we had to replace the batteries. For the kitchen, I would recommend the accommodation provide at least two tea towels and a pair of oven gloves as getting things out of the oven was tricky. Plus providing some cleaning products and items like seasonings (ie. salt and pepper) for the kitchen would also be a nice touch.

Quite location but close to all you need. Well presented property with a good kitchen, lovely bathroom and a good sized bedroom with very comfy bed.

It was very clean and comfortable. Home from home nearly.

No microwave. No roasting dishes or many pans for cooking. The drive towards the cottage is full of severe potholes.

Our Second Stay Here! Gorgeous location, just over 20 minutes from the Centre of Bristol. Exceptionally clean property (minus a few scratches and furniture chips here and there) with everything you’ll need for a weekend away/week day stay. Lovely view and so quiet, which we prefer. There’s a small shop/petrol station about a 1/4 of a mile up the road which is great too!

The heating is locked/set to certain temperatures and it got quite hot on our second night, which made it slightly uncomfortable.
