Mountain Lake Retreat - hot tub, lake, fire pit, wineries, restaurant

Cozy. The host was very pleasant. I was 45 minutes late checking out and she was understanding. Fire starters were available for the fire pit. Wood for the pit was not available and she offered to reimburse me as I went to Home Depot and got a few bundles. Very dog friendly with dog bowls, poop bags, hand towels conveniently hanging by the doors for wiping their feet off. Clean refrigerator. A nice lily pond by the back door.

The deck was unuseabale: Cushions were soaked, standing water in trays, leaves and debris all over. A leaf blower would be a good idea and to make sure guests could sit outside. The driveway was a mess with leaves and debris. The hamik was full of leaves as well. I didn't like opening the blinds and seeing the spiders on the window outside because the screen was not attached properly, therefore you couldn't open the windows. Not enough wood to have a nice fire. Not enough towels in the bathroom. The lanonium on the floor by the front door had a big bow in it that stuck up. 2 Wheelbarrows on the side of the driveway filled with stones and standing water. This also made it inconvenient to go in and out of the car on that side.

The home was nicely decorated, clean, and very cozy with comfy beds, and everything you might need was available, such as dishes, utensils, cookware and other supplies, etc. The yard has a nice privacy fence, which was nice for our pups. We also really enjoyed the hottub in the evenings when it was chilly outside.

We ran out of toilet paper the second day and couldn't find any extra anywhere in the home, so we had to drive several miles to town to get some. (There were only one and a half rolls available when we arrived) We weren't aware that we needed to bring our own, but we'll know better next time. The outdoor grill needs replaced. We were going to grill some steaks and veggies, but the grill was very rusty and unclean on the inside. The only other issue was very poor outdoor lighting, especially at the driveway and walkways. It was extremely dark at night, and we had to use flashlights to see where we were going when walking outside the house.

This place met all my expectations and then some. I would definitely recommend this place and we definitely will be back. Its quite and comfortable and close to breweries and wineries.

That we didn't have more time to spend. Hate leaving this place the hot tub was incredible.

Very clean and well-equipped kitchen. Basic cooking supplies, laundry detergent, coffee provided. Enjoyed going to the beach club for a swim. Owner very responsive when we called for a question.

The third “bedroom” is in basement with no a/c and is a sofa couch. Not really what I would consider a bedroom. It was a bit hot and stuffy with no airflow, so slept on couch upstairs.

Location. My grandsons loved the house and the downstairs part of the house. They were a little disappointed that the controller to the game system didn't work; but still had a great time
