Domaine de Monrecour - Hôtel & Restaurant - Proche de Sarlat

Sehr schönes gepflegtes Hotel mit einem grossen Park. Grosse Zimmer, Badezimmer und seperates WC, alles sehr sauber. Gut gelegen um das Périgord zu erkunden. Qualität der Speisen im Restaurant sehr gut. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut, bis auf den Automatenkaffee.

Kaffee beim Frühstück. Bei den Speisen im Restaurant hätten wir uns etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Am Abend konnte zwischen 3 Menus gewählt werden. Wäre Wünschenswert wenn noch zusätzlich etwas angeboten würde bzw. man zwischen den Menus tauschen könnte. Mit entsprechenden Preisanpassungen sollte dies doch möglich sein.

We had a Traditional Double Room in the annex on the third floor . It was much larger than we expected with a seating area and coffee table and area for tea/coffee etc and double aspect windows with views over the beautiful countryside. Elegantly furnished and decorated and the bathroom was very large too with a large walk in shower and separate toilet. The buffet breakfast was excellent. We ate twice at the restaurant and chose from the €45 three course set menu which was more than enough for us to eat. The food was beautifully prepared and served and tasted as good. We also had two massages whilst we were there and this was organised for us by the hotel. They have a golf range and putting area too. There's so much to see and do in the area we didn't get round to golf! The two heated pools were fantastic and as we were there in early June had them mostly to ourselves . The bar staff were very attentive and served us drinks by the pools. Domaine de Monrecour is just a lovely place to stay just outside of Beynac so access by car to the local attractions is very easy. We would love to go back.

Just two negatives that we felt. Firstly if you were staying for a few days the restaurant does not change it's menu so we ate twice and therefore if we ate again we would be eating the same food again. There are plenty of restaurants locally so we went out to eat. The pool in front of the main house is beautiful but its got two deep steps to get in and out with no hand rails. We weren't the only clients to struggle with this and comment. Just a minor detail but a handrail would be great.
