The hotel - known locally as 'Khamsa Hotel' is located in front of the boarding gates and the duty free shops and cafes and restaurants. It's in an unbeatable location. The windowless rooms are very small and the AC is not too effective. I had to ask for an additional AC unit which was very noisy.

One issue: In order to access the hotel, you need to pass through airport security screening. If you are in transit, you will need to have an onward boarding pass to do this. Since my connecting flight was more than 12 hours away, I could not be issued with a boarding pass for my 2nd flight since these are issued 3 hours before the flight. They are also only issued in the checkin area by the airline staff. I had to be given a hand-written pass by the friendly staff at the transfer desk which allowed me to pass through the security screening and access the hotel. Then, 3 hours before my flight, I returned to the transfer desk and waited while one of the staff went to the check-in area on the landside of the terminal where Azerbaijan Airlines staff then issued my onward boarding pass. A bit of a hassle.

We can’t call them room which they provide us. Its literally too small
