The hosts were amazing. So welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The attention to detail, the food, the bed, the decor, the whole experience was excellent.

Absolutely nothing.

This is an attractive, comfortable house. We had a really lovely bedroom and bathroom en suite. The dining room is brilliantly organised not just for breakfast but for making your own teas, coffees and snacks at any time. The breakfast provided was exceptional - not cooked but fantastic fruit salad, croissants, bread, cheese and much else supplemented by whatever Ann decides to add on - such as boiled eggs, and we were very lucky to get fresh scones. The views and countryside around the house and more widely in South Uist and nearby Eriskay are truly stunning. We were so warmly welcomed by Ann and Maj who helped us to book places to eat (booking is essential) and much else and were there to make sure we had a decent breakfast and see us on our way at 05.45 to an early ferry at Lochboisdale 10 minutes away . A truly exceptional stay and we can’t wait to return.

Only offered self serve continental breakfast but good choice and we were able to make a sandwich to take out with us each day.

Very homely. Great hosts. Breakfast excellent 👌. We'll positioned . Would definitely go back to use as a base for Barra and South Uist.

Ann and Madge's is well located a short drive from the shops and a walk to a beach with a beautiful sunset. They were very hospitable and made us feel at home. The breakfast is also fantastic. Overall a great place to stay - would recommend!

Booked for 2 colleagues and the room was excellent. spotless and comfortable and absolutely ideal for a work trip (although can imagine it being great for any trip). 2 great beds, breakfast area, spacious and bathroom excellent. Hosts were lovely, extremely accommodating and went above and beyond, communication was great - would highly recommend this BnB.

We loved staying at Ard Bhuidhe - our hosts Ann and Madge were incredibly welcome . We had the studio apartment upstairs and it was warm and spacious and extremely comfortable. There was a very relaxed vibe in this lovely place which made it feel very homelike.

Nothing not to like - only that we couldn’t stay longer!

Very warm welcome. A spacious, very comfortable and well furnished family room. Delicious breakfast and scones as well. High nice moments with the owners in the lounge room, in front of a warm fire of peat.
