Cosy 2 Bedroom Home in Wigan

Only one almost finished toilet paper roll and we had to search for it. No bedclothes on one of the two beds and not enough even available when we searched. A cupboard full of all the old used bedclothes and towels from several weeks - it almost completely filled the cupboard. Only one shelf in the oven so impossible to cook all our pizzas at the same time. House was impossibly hot and this was not during the record heatwaves - we think it was because the boiler was on continuously. One of the chairs in the garden broken but we only realised it when we sat on it. Horrible plastic grass in the garden. Took ages to rescue the keys from the lock box at the front door, very difficult. Not enough bowels for putting out a meal so people can serve themselves. The house was very disappointing for the money. The worst problem though was the agency that runs this property. Having booked on booking.com got an email saying I would need to upload photo id documents which was a shock. The money was taken from my account and the booking paid for. I contacted booking.com which told me not to upload the documents and that I should be wary of this. An online search also suggested this could be a scam. I did click on a link which did not require my documents but a few address etc details. I fill this in and got confirmation everything was completed. Then got another email asking me to upload documents. I called a number supplied and was told I needed to upload id before I get the code to get the keys. I explained this was very unusual and even Booking.com had recommended not to cooperate. I was told details of this condition were on the booking.com advert and in the confirmation documents - it was not in any of these and they had taken my money in any case. In the end after hours on the phone I was sent the code for the keys - simply the most appalling experience I have had booking any accommodation on booking.com. I would not have written review but property chased for review

Location, size, garden

Unclean, ripped sofa, some things old and damaged, dirty cups in cupboard, weeds in garden, messy indoors, ironing board, Hoover and maiden in lounge. Random garden equipment thrown in garden

Tumble dryer and dishwasher not functioning. Shower leaking. Three cracks in the bottom. We didn’t use it. We saw the stains on the hallway ceiling downstairs. Sofa comfy but worn. Bed children’s room not comfy. Police, ambulance and firefighters stations in the street. Every 10 minutes a siren. Good large smart tv. Kind staff. Driveway.

Location was good in relation to shops (although lots of noisy teens on the car park through the night and early hours of am)

Not clean Stains on all walls and ceilings Carpet very dirty Walls need to be painted Sofa was v.old, damaged-needs replacing failed to inform us its beside police, fire and ambulance stations- sirens going all night. bed in master room had missing slats/whole in the matress so left with terrible back ache. No blind in main bedroom so sun shines right in from v.early!!
