La casa di Eli

The property was close to city center, clean, nicely furnished. All rooms had AC which is a must on hot days. The owner was very friendly and helped with additional information , also he surprised us with some complimentary drinks.

The house was located on a quite dirty street, but suppose this came as a package with choosing to stay close to old city centre.

The location was nice, featuring a small yet charming terrace. Since the house accommodates six people, it would have been nice to have two more chairs on the terrace. The indoor chairs were very tall (bar stools), making it uncomfortable for others to sit outside. Additionally, the host provided us with various information and recommendations, responding promptly.

The neighborhood isn't very nice, but we felt secure due to the access gate that serves multiple apartments like ours, and the terrace being set away from the street. In one of the upstairs bedrooms, the AC is mounted so that the cold air blows directly on you while in bed. This is neither comfortable nor healthy, so we couldn't keep it on at night, making it very hot.

The house is nice and comfortable, easy to access, about 10 minutes from the main square. It was clean and tidy. It can easily fit 4 people, and I would definitely recommend La Casa Di Eli if you are visiting Catania.

There was a bunch of trash in front of the main gate when we arrived, but you will see this throughout Catania - trash on the streets is pretty common.

Gianfranco has a lovely, clean and well located house within walking distance of the main sites around Catania which was very convenient.

We enjoy our stay in the La casa di Eli but with some minor comments left below.

On the ground floor, there was almost no daylight. The host was so-so... Cleanliness was not on the expected level. Although located near the top center, with its small streets, and old/abandoned buildings, the neighborhood was not looking very safe.

Everything was perfect. Great service, perfect location close to city center, clean rooms, Value for money. We highly recommend it.

The entrance to the house inside an inner courtyard behind the gate so we felt very safe leaving our things in the house. The owner is very friendly and answers promptly. He also let us keep our luggage for a few extra hours after checkout.

Thin walls, you can hear people in the other room. The headboards of the single beds are not attached to the bed and are noisy when moving in bed.

We liked our stay in this lovely little apartment, that is very cozy and clean, in a very authentic Catanian neighbourhood. One big bonus is that is so quiet in the apartment - as a very light sleeper who has discomfort almost everywhere, I slept so well (plus the linens are very good quality). Special thanks to the host Gianfranco who is such a attentive person. Unfortunately we could not meet, as we were late for the check-in, but great impression based on written communication - very fast responsive, polite, caring and customer oriented!

As the host is very much oriented on the guests satisfaction and improvement, just one recommendation - After exploring beautiful Catania and coming home tired, we wanted to sit on some softer and comfortable chairs around the bar table, as the sofa is not enough for 5 persons (if there is a small company, than it is fine), maybe some puffs around would add more comfort.
