Alice’s Garden @ Bleak House Farm

Both me and my husband enjoyed our weekend in Alice's Garden Farm house. It was quiet, peaceful and so close to York city centre. Mark, the host is absolutely lovely and showed us around. He has thought of everything and we will definitely be back!

It was absolutely perfect! Went here for a relaxing week away with my partner, couldn’t have been happier! Mark was amazing showed us how everything worked and if we needed anything he was there to help. The hot tub and sauna were fabulous. Extras like towels, sliders, robes and tea and coffee etc were a pleasant surprise. 10 minutes away from the city centre, £5-7 in an uber. The cats on site made our stay even better, most adorable little kitties out there. 🫶 Definitely coming back again in the future!

Everything was perfect!

When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, who was really friendly and helpful, and also provided us with lots of useful info on the area. We were shown to where we were staying, which was Alice’s Garden (1) (but Alice’s Garden 2, the second property looked equally beautiful). The location itself is really nice, peaceful and relaxing, and the gardens of the properties were really well tended, they look brilliant and really added to that relaxing vibe. The property itself is bijou - but looks exactly as it does in the pictures on this site, and was exactly what we expected, it was perfect; really clean, really comfy and with a kitchen area that has everything you’d need for self catering (if you’re not eating out and about). The owners also provide everything you could need for having a bbq. All of that and a lovely, wood-fired Hot Tub as well! It was perfect. The farm itself is easy to find (Sat nav got it spot on), and is close enough to York centre that you can walk it easily in 40min.. there’s a Co-op 10mins walk down the road, and an Aldi a bit further away, if you need any bits.. All in all our stay was great, we will be looking to book again soon! Thanks so much to all at Bleak House Farm!!

The way everything was set out was really nice and how clean it was and everything was thought about didn’t have to ask for nothing and the cats where very friendly

Every little detail of our stay was thought about by the owners. From the minute we arrived to the minute we departed we where treated with such kindness. We arrived Friday early evening and the owner gave us a mini tour of the property and showed us how to use the facilities included (hot tub and sauna). When I say every little detail was though about I am not joking. Kitchen facilities with tea, coffee, soft drinks. Robes and sliders included which was A MASSIVE tough getting in and out of the hot tub or sauna. We decided to take a trip into the city which only cost £7 via an uber(great location). On our return we weren't too hungry however we where spoilt for choice on takeaways. But we decided to bring back some food to utilise the BBQ and again every little detail down to fire lighters, coal and utensils where all they for us to use. The property owner even let us take our time on check out as they didn't have a booking that evening so a mini dip in the hot tub before our departure just made the trip all the more perfect. I have never visited somewhere that was so catering for a couples weekend away where you could turn up and literally switch off and relax in a beautiful space of calm and beauty.

Everything. Mark couldn't do enough for us and made us so welcome. Can't wait to return!
