Location, apartment was large, simple but substantial breakfast. Large outdoor patio and seating area. Easy to check in

Apartment needs some updating. Peeling paint in bedroom and musty smell, Apartment door key was finicky to use. Very poor or no wifi most of the time.

The location

They were unresponsive and had not disclosed their limited amenities. Two tiny 1oz shampoo bottles for two people for three nights. Two of the lowest quality toilet paper rolls for two people for three nights. We had to go buy some as we finished it on the second day. No bathroom towel for drying our hands. We had to move the muslin (not too absorbent) dish towel to bathroom. No kitchen napkins- also had to bring some from a restaurant down the street which was kind enough to give us some. Then we had to sign a contract that we would take out our own garbage and had no instructions on where to place it. And they NEVER responded.

The apartment itself is nice, the location is good, and stepping outside, you find yourself right in the city center with restaurants and shops nearby. Within a 3-minute walk, you can reach anywhere. That's where the positives end.

Upon our arrival, we were met with a horror scene: - At the entrance, there was abandoned garbage that had attracted an endless line of ants; - The apartment had not been cleaned, and the bathroom was in an indecent condition. There was even unflushed urine in the toilet; - The bathroom sink was unusable. The plug was broken and stuck in the closed position; - The windows were wide open, probably for days, and the house was full of insects, including a dead gecko; - The bedroom has no windows, is damp, and has an unbearable smell of mold; - Many walls had peeling paint and signs of mold. The check-in process is inconvenient, and the staff is not friendly. You need to check in at the office of the agency that manages the apartment (Dream Algarve), which is on the other side of the town. If you arrive by car, this might not be complicated, but if you are on foot with luggage, it will be particularly inconvenient and exhausting to drag your bags to the apartment. At check-in, we met a man and girl who gave the impression they would rather be anywhere else than there handing us the keys. Oh yes, if you arrive after 7 PM, they charge you a 20€ penalty, so read the property conditions carefully. If you arrive by car, there is no space to stop even in front of the door. The street is narrow, and if cars come, they line up, making it impossible to unload. The free public parking is not too far, but it is not convenient either. Breakfast is as shown in the photos. We immediately contacted the property to report all the above problems. In the meantime, we spent the first evening (out of two) cleaning at least the bathroom and getting rid of the ants. We stayed up late and missed dinner because of this. The next day, the agency sent staff while we were out, who finally cleaned the apartment and fixed the sink. No refund was offered. In conclusion: I do not recommend this apartment and the Dream Algarve Agency.
