Aplanty House: A Hidden Gem in The Heart of The Fens

The door lock system was hard to get working for a 71 year old technophobe. Getting in the building was ok but for the room door the instructions were poor. No staff were on site. The shared kitchen facilities were unexpected but ok. Perhaps put images on line and explain.

Lovely accommodation, really tranquil and clean. Lovely area too

Nothing to not like. I wished there was a fridge in the room for milk and snacks but didnt ruin the stay.

Clean, comfortable, and well-situated for what I needed to do, with facilities available in nearby Wisbech if necessary. Very pleasant location.

Several times I had to make 3 or 4 attempts to get the automated door-opening system to work. Also, the shower was difficult to operate, so I found myself standing soap-covered for at least 5 minutes. It would have been very useful had someone been there to help.

Didn’t like that had to share all of the kitchen and other rooms with other people didn’t have my own space and there was gaps between the room door so no privacy

This definitely is a little gem of a property. We had an overnight stay and wished we had booked longer. Our friends live in Wisbech and we wanted somewhere that wasn't too far away and not the hotel in Wisbech itself. After a little bit of online research and reading reviews, we decided on this property and were more than happy with our choice. The communication with the owners was excellent, the instructions on how it gets in and out of the property was easy to understand. The shower in the King room was AMAZING!! And the bed is one of the most comfortable mattresses I've slept on in a long while. The 'aplanty' is plenty 🌿 and is a brilliant concept

There were a couple of cosmetic issues inside the room that would make the place A1 if rectified - nothing that takes away the use of the room.

Clean and well decorated

The digital tv channels are not easily accessible to all guests and the owner who I had to contact and who could only access Netflix for me was asked by me to ensure in future that a laminated notice is placed in every room to the effect that there is no aerial so no access to live tv and that she as owner of the property has registered for all the digital channels on each smart set. The owner should make it clear in the laminated notice that she must remain on the system as the sole named person with her password on the digital channels on the smart TV quoting the name and her password and email address in the notice.The notice is to request that no guest is to impair the smooth functioning of the smart tv digital access system by putting their own username and email details into the system . The notice should be in every room and should also make it clear that if any guest tries to use their own username and email details on the smart tv it will mean that the digital system becomes very difficult for other future guests to access and the owner has to be called to try and re set the system

Location is really nice, but far out of the town however with car that’s no issue. The place is very well kept with excellent facilities

Signal can be quite poor in some places

Spacious room - nice bath

No wardrobe- tv didn’t work ( reported it ) - internet dropping out and continual buffering Noisy as only a wooden gate as a door, smelt of cooking Items of clothing in the bathroom sink draws No extra pillows - no smoke alarm in the room

The bathroom was fantastic

Other half said it was a bit chilly to start with but warmed up when she put the heater on
