"Nice little cottage in central location"

8.0

Perfect location right next to Stratford-upon-Avon centre and theatres, though very quiet, which is precisely what we needed. A lovely little old cottage to spend a few days and visit the town or go to the theatres. The stairs to the bedrooms can be tricky, so if you have mobility issues, it might not be the right place, but we had no issues with that.. We found coffee, but no coffee maker, and we were told there was a kettle, although it is true that the coffee maker is not included in the description. There's no clothes dryer as such (machine), but a place to hang your clothes indoors (we used the launderette literally 2 minutes away from the cottage to dry our clothes, so it wasn't a problem). There's plenty of cutlery and kitchen utensils and the kitchen and bathroom are fully renovated. The beds were big and comfortable. Everything was clean and ready to use, very much like one can see in the pictures. There's a booklet in the property with instructions and answers to the most typical issues, which is helpful. It was a bit chilly when we arrived, but the weather was specially cold and the instructions provided in the booklet made it easier to warm it up in no time. The backyard space was also very much appreciated, despite the really cold and wet weather, but it must be beautiful in the spring when the tree is in full blossom.

There's no dryer (machine) when the description might lead to think there is. We asked about it in advance, so we knew, but that point should be clarified in the description as it might lead to confusion. We didn't find the complimentary wine/champagne that the description also mentions, so this should also be updated. We found coffee, but no coffee maker, and we were told there was a kettle, although it is true that the coffee maker is not included in the description. There was only one toilet paper roll (and two empty ones in the cupboard) for 3 people and 3 days. The bottles with cleaning products were there in the right places, but empty, so we managed with the little left for the dishes and what we were kindly given at the launderette nearby. Although the instructions for check-in were clear, the communication from the host was a bit scarce. There is nowhere to plug one of the bedside table lamps in the main bedroom. These are only little details that could easily be improved and might simply be due to little time to check stuff between guests and the time of the year, but didn't interfere with our stay. We did enjoy our stay in beautiful friendly Stratford though, and the accomodation fitted our needs, so we might try to book again when we visit next time.

"Brilliant base for exploring all of Stratford."

8.0

Lovely quirky terrace. I’ve lived in one just like it so knew what to expect. The heating needed turning up a little due to zero temps, but was toasty warm once we did. Close to town- didn’t use the car all weekend. Enclosed garden perfect for pets- and a snicker close by for last walks- bins present too on the street. Lovely comfy rooms. Lovely space to dine and cosy lounge for a film at the end of the day.

Big bed feels as though it’s wonky- you roll to each side. Nothing really to dislike at all- just an extra loo roll please!

"Cozy house in a great location."

7.0

Great location. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen for self catering.

The house felt as if all the furniture had been purchased at random from op shops. The bed in the main bedroom is hard and uncomfortable and creaks. It needs replacing. The furniture in the sitting room is also old and tired and should be replaced. More accessible power points in the bedrooms would be good. There were lamps on the bed side tables which were not plugged in - and there was nowhere to plug them in. Finally. It is convenient to have an upstairs toilet but it should also have handwashing facilities.

Location is great!

The bin situation wasn't ideal. There was no dryer or clothes line as advertised.
