The Great House B&B

Very friendly and nice family that runs the B&B. Their homecooked pasta arrabiata meal served with house red wine on the charming great house terrasse can be highly recommended. A value for money castle like stay that my family and i truly appreciated.

We just loved everything about the Great House. Lovely setting, beautiful room, bed very comfortable. Decor throughout the house was amazing and felt so authentic, breakfast room in particular was such a lovely space and the Terrace was a fantastic place to sit evenings and mornings in the recent hot weather. Bruce and Sheila were superb hosts, made us feel very relaxed and almost part of the family right from the start, they created such a great atmosphere. Food was great both breakfast and we dined both nights (the local pub was booked out for a wedding so they cooked us a great Friday night meal at very short notice).

The owners were super welcoming and lovely people. They made us feel so welcomed. The room was impeccable and clean. Such a great place to visit and stay!

Elegant house, beautifully renovated and decorated, comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast, absolutely lovely hosts.

Absolutely nothing to not like.

The welcome we received from Sheila and Bruce was lovely. The house is sophisticated and the atmosphere is relaxing. They couldn’t do enough for us and kindly cooked us supper where we had a romantic meal for 2 in their stunning dining room. Sheila was happy to cater for my dietary requirements (dairy and gluten free). Our room (The Luttrell) was very elegant and the shower room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to return one day.

The only slightly negative thing to mention was that it wasn’t clear that the hot tub (even though it was solely ours to use) was not adjacent or close to the room, so we didn’t end up using it.
