The Dog House, Mere

This small property is excellent for a one night stay and was conveniently located for our Bath to Bournemouth cycle ride. It was comfortable clean and had everything that we needed. The owners were very helpful in responding to our messages and we were able to store our bicycles under cover.. Thank you.

The bathroom is tiny, and as a tall (slim) person it was very tight, especially in the shower.

Very well equipped and in a peaceful location.

For an overnight stay with our dog, we had everything we needed and most importantly, the bed was comfy for a good nights rest. Perfectly located for lots of great walks and an easy stroll into town to pick up food and coffees in the morning.

The Dog a house was scrupulously clean, comfortable and inviting. Good directions and a very convenient parking space.

A cosy home from home and ideal location to explore the area

Perfect for a one night trip. Comfortable bed, and lounge area. Very dog friendly. Quick walk into the Village centre with lots of amenities.

Our stay was truly magnificent; the cottage has been designed with incredible ingenuity meaning cleverness and original invention and a superb sense of aesthetics that left us thoroughly impressed. We were particularly enchanted to find a photographic album documenting the construction of the house, which highlighted its wonderful heritage as a family-run project and added a deeply personal touch to our visit. The experience was made even more sublime by the inclusion of a skylight directly above the bed, allowing for the breathtaking opportunity to gaze at the stars as we retired for the night. Sharing the story behind a property's creation creates a meaningful connection that elevates a simple stay into a memorable experience.

While the accommodation was nearly perfect, the inclusion of a MOKA POT or a FRENCH PRESS would have been a most welcome addition for those of us who appreciate the ritual of brewing fresh coffee. This minor enhancement would have provided the ideal finishing touch to an otherwise flawless stay, though I recognise that such a preference may not be a priority for every guest. It is a testament to the overall quality of the house that only such a small detail remained to be desired.
