Kona Islander Inn - Prime Downtown Location with Hot Tub, Pool & Beach

Beautiful surroundings, great location, nice private patio facing the pool, ground level, easy access, clean and well appointed.

Our room was very nice and comfortable since really located. Easy just to walk out and enjoy our day!

Very convenient location, walking distance to good dinner and breakfast options. Great to have a parking spot for the rental car. SUPER-comfortable bed!!! Spotlessly clean. Nice decor. Nice to have access to hot tub, pool and laundry. Pretty view of the garden. Friendly check-in staff, very easy process. Excellent communications from the hosts.

Kind of expensive cleaning fee and added tax.

We would stay there again. Great location. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub.

Very nicely decorated unit that seems to be recently remodeled completely. Great location to walk to restaurants and bars. Outside table and chairs and extendable rack to hang wet towels or clothes is a nice touch. There was luggage racks to put your luggage on whick I appreciate (having 2 keeps our dirty luggage off the floor and furniture) Parking available Receptionist was helpful in giving dining suggestions and sights.

They have beautiful grounds but needed clean up and upkeep. This could look amazing

This is my 5th stay at the Islander. Would not stay elsewhere in Kona. Ask for unit 150 First! Central location, no car needed. Walk to anywhere!

Overall an excellent choice. The only issues we noise (the walls were thin between neighbors) and parking (only happened when we got in one night at 11:00 PM)

First, the listing on hotels.com was misleading. After going through many listings that said one bedroom, two bedroom, one bedroom, two bedroom, the fact that they did not describe this as a studio, which it was, was disconcerting. Walking in to find a single room and a Murphy bed to pull down from the wall Was not what I was looking for. Two, the check-in process was haphazard. It’s apparently just a matter of luck whether any of the limited staff happen to be around the front desk when you walk in. Three, I have photos of a thick layer of grime and dust on the leading edges of the fans in the room. I doubt that they have been cleaned in years.. Four, there is insufficient parking on the premises to support the number of people staying there.
