Kona Islander Inn - Prime Downtown Location with Hot Tub, Pool & Beach

Room unclem, trash on floor, roach traps thru out condo, multiple flea bugs in condo, multiple cats seen roaming the property. Was tolls by host when we checked in not to plug two things in at once when in the condo as it would trip the fuses. Host staff unfriendly. Location ok but grounds needed updating for sure. Did complaint thru booking.com. I would not recommend staying here.

Host had attitude. Many roach traps in unit. All ammenities working no matter what is plugged in or not. Pictures on booking not like in real Life. Misrepresentation. Called Booking.com for refund. Manager replied was nasty n rude. Used all caps in email. Dismissed my claims. Doubt I’ll get money refunded. Again don’t stay here. There is nothing luxurious about it. Stay at your own risk.

Very nice place to stay near all the action. Easily walk to restaurants and the ocean. Only downfall is that our apartment didn’t provide the internet password so if you were there for a while that would be a bummer. Other than that very comfortable with most of the amenities you would need.

I have been coming to Kona for both business and pleasure since 2018, and I have bounced around several different vacation rental properties over time, and this condo is hands down the best option I have found for the money. The location in downtown Kona can't be beat, and the beautifully landscaped, tropical grounds at the Kona Islander Inn are unlike any other properties in Kona. You basically walk out your back door, and with a 2 minute walk down a pathway lined with banana trees and flowers, you cross the street and there's a beautiful beach for watching epic sunsets and sea turtles before you stroll conveniently to all the restaurants and nightlife Kona has to offer! The condo was very clean and exactly as shown in the photos with lots of amenities, including beach chairs, a beach tent and cooler. The bed was SO comfortable and the condo is freshly decorated in a beautiful Hawaiian theme throughout. I was hesitant to book this condo due to the fact that there were so few reviews and I was required to pay in cash on arrival, but the host was super professional and made it super easy to pay via credit card prior to my arrival so I felt confident that my purchase was guaranteed and protected by my credit card company. I highly recommend this condo if you are coming to Kona on business or pleasure and I intend to book this condo frequently!

Location in downtown Kona nestled between Alii Drive and Kaukini Drive is perfect. The unit's cleanliness and attention to detail, along with communication with the owner, who lives in the complex, was excellent. The description in Bookings, re-reading it after our trip, is accurate.

The location was great! Right across from the beach, and arms the corner from all the restaurants. The bed was very comfortable. The unit had been updated and was very nice. I would definitely stay here again. The owner was always available for any questions I had via text or email.

The parking situation is hugely problematic. I arrived early and secured a spot, had to run an errand at 9:00 pm to prepare for early morning trip and upon my return there was no parking in the parking lot OR on the upper street which I was advised I may have to do. I had to park two blocks away, alone, walking past a homeless set up and I then had to walk again to get the car at 5:30 am alone in the dark. I would not have chosen this site if I knew I could not park somewhat close to the room, especially traveling alone.
