"Great value stay in a wonderfully historic building, in a beautiful village"

9.0

Just spent a lovely weekend here. Loved the history of the building, it really felt like stepping back in time. Its a 500 year old building, so if you don't like wonky floors, beams or steep stairs, then it may not be for you. We absolutely loved it. All the staff we met from check-in to waiting staff were so friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast there (which was very nice) as we were at wedding events in the evenings, but when we walked through, the food looked really nice and it was obviously popular. The location is fantastic - right on the high street. Even though our room faced the road (and no double-glazing) it was very quiet after about 11 pm - the only noise was the peacocks, which seem to randomly roam the village :-). We will absolutely be coming back to stay again.

We did think the bed was very firm, which isn't what we're used to. We still had a really good nights sleep though, so although it didn't turn out to be an issue for us, thought I'd point it out.

"A gem"

10.0

A friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was enormous and, although characterful with lots of beams, it was spotless - not a spider's web to be seen. Our room faced the road, but once the windows were fully closed there was little noise and then as night fell the traffic decresased totally so we had a very quiet stay. We ate in the restaurant although we had the option of eating in the bar area. The menu was varied and the food tasty. For a pub stay it surpassed our expectations and was real value for money.

Nothing.
