The Hook BnB, Port Blair

The Captain and his wife are truly hospitable, my trip in Andamans would not have been the same without them! They are very knowledgeable about activities and attractions and can provide many recommendations. The accommodation itself is excellently run with with pride and attention to detail. I especially enjoyed the fresh coconut water upon arrival and the transfers arranged to/from airport or jetty.

Wonderful, efficient and very helpful staff. Comfortable, silent and very clean rooms, with all facilities you need for a very pleasant stay!

Maybe not the best location if you plan to spend an evening in the center and come back freely and/or late night, especially by foot, given that it slightly isolated (on a little uphill road with scarse lighting and many dogs) and in the evening it is not always easy to find reliable local transport in town, without previous arrangements.

Perfect hosts and lovely B n B - Capt Dhana was so helpful ahead of and during my stay. He had such great advice and helped with ferries and local logistics.I am so glad I found the Hook - and would heartily recommend.

I love the sea view, the table set on the balcony where you can enjoy your meals with the sea view and also with privacy. The host Madam is very kind and looks after your every requirement and there is also a one way pickup or drop which you can choose. It’s also very near to Haddo Bay and so you can get onto your ferry within a short time. Lastly, the home cooked meals served here is superb. Enjoyed my stay with my family, it feels like home.

The Hook BnB offered a comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts were friendly and attentive. The location was convenient yet peaceful, and the breakfast was wonderful – fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to the day. A recommended choice for a relaxing getaway.

It would be worth to fly to Andaman just to stay at this great property. The family that runs it is incredibly welcoming and very professional in helping you at any time of the day. They speak really good English and they know everybody in town, so they can help you setting up a tour for very good price (ask them before wasting 100€ for Baratang caves), finding reliable drivers. The room is very clean and has everything you need to have a good stay, including a practical bag with soap shampoo and toothbrush). The common areas are spacious and very comfy. Captain Dhana's is a very interesting person, with lots of stories to share. His wife Revathi is so caring that I felt I was part of the family. And factotum James welcomes you with a big smile and a coconut juice. Don't miss the chance to stay at this place!

I liked everything about the stay. Food was exceptional! Had a comfortable stay. Clean and neat rooms. Supporting and sweet staff. Host Mrs.Revathi helped us with planning the itinerary and to book transportation. One of the sweetest hosts I have met. We had provision to cook at the kitchen as we had a baby in the family. Had a small grocery store in the next building for any immediate necessity. Location was great. Quiet and clam. Close to most sightseeing places. Especially to airport and jetty. Loved the stay overall! 5 ⭐

our room was at 3rd floor so had to climb 3 floors everytime as there is no lift option😁 but that's ok. Because everything else was great. It is not very fancy and attractive, but a decent one.

We spent three days at "The Hook," and Revathi and Capt. Dhana were the absolute best hosts. They took care of all our needs with precision. The place is spotless, and the balcony view is stunning. Revathi's cooking? Phenomenal. She prepared delicious breakfasts and fantastic dinners. Capt. Dhana shared tips and guided us to must-visit spots. They offer airport pickup and drop-off as well. If you're planning a trip, talk to Revathi and Capt. Dhana; they'll help with transportation and guide you through bookings. Here are some tips from our experience: You don't need a travel agent for booking hotels, cruise tickets, or water sports in the Andama—it's more cost effective if you book online. Port Blair is compact, with a 15 km stretch and plenty of autos. You can travel from one place to another in INR100. Havelock and Neil Island are even smaller and well served by autos. Note that no travel agent representatives are allowed on Elephanta Beach, and tourists must manage their water sports activities. So, there's really no need to hire a travel agent for ticket purchases.
