2 Bedroom House on Holmes Hill Road- Free Parking, Wi-Fi & Patio

We chose the house because it was near relatives we wanted to visit, so location was good. The owner was very helpful when we had trouble with the heating as it was turned off and we were cold. There was plenty of hot water for showers, etc.

The kitchen was not very well equipped. There was no teapot, coffee pot or grater and not much inthe way of cooking utensils. There was nowhere to hang coats. Although there were beds for 5 people, there was only a 2-seater sofa and 1 armchair, so only seating for 3. As we were falling asleep the bed we were sleeping in collapsed. The wooden slats had fallen out of the plastic holders. We had done nothing to cause this.

Good shower and kitchen was well equipped , had Netflix and Iplayer all logged in so no messing about , also broadband was really fast 380mbs The owner was available and answered any questions we had in a few hours

It was good enough for us

Fab location, cosy home with free parking, smart tv, nicely decorated, great host that was there if we needed her, she virtually checked in on us to make sure we were ok after our first night at the property which was an amazing touch! We’ve never had that before. Quiet area and comfy beds so we all got a great couple of nights sleep! Amazing value for money too!

One small sofa in the living room, as the accommodation sleeps 5, another seating area would be nice to fit the other 3 guests. The dining room table is a nice touch but not comfortable to sit on for a long period of time so I feel like removing that and adding another seating area like a sofa would be great as 3 of our guests had to sit on the floor for the duration of the weekend. There were a few issues with cobwebs, dust, a smelly indoor bin (think a bag must have leaked or something as the bin underneath the empty bag smelt rotten and was very noticeable whenever you opened the bin) and a lack of basics like scissors for example. Really minor things that can easily be fixed! The taps in the bathroom (bath/shower) are on the wrong way so the cold produces hot water and the hot water produces cold water. The front door isn’t sealed sufficiently and we stayed whilst storm Amy was in full force! So we kept thinking someone was walking in the door which frightened us a couple of times but it was just the wind.

I stayed here for 2 weeks and found it spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen (though no salt or pepper) and a washing machine. The host was very responsive, quickly providing laundry detergent when we noticed there wasn’t any, and collecting the keys from the lock box was easy even with our late-night arrival. The quiet residential neighbourhood also made for a peaceful stay.

There were a few downsides worth mentioning. The bathroom felt a bit old, the beds weren’t very comfortable (thin, springy mattresses), and while there is a patio, it’s sparse and not well maintained so not especially inviting. A few things were also broken, like the drying rack and the blinds in one of the bedrooms, which was a little inconvenient. None of these made the stay untenable. It’s also worth noting that while the bus is easy to use, the property is about 30 minutes from the city centre, so it may not suit someone focused on sightseeing or nightlife.

Only location is good, house should have been well maintained.

Moulds in corners, windows, pantry is not maintained properly, used and teared tea bags,bed mattress is not comfortable, noticed nails in steps my toddler got hurt due to injury

Location and car parking

Not very clean, beds uncomfortable and wobbly and windows were locked so unable to get any fresh air since it was so humid.

Well, I didn't like the dirty dishes and oven trays. The patchy duvet and towel. I didn't like the fact I couldn't open the windows as all of them were locked, and when I tried to call the host on the given number, they didn't take it, so I sent a message. That was answered on the following day, telling there should be a key somewhere. Of course, it wasn't . So I had to sleep in a mouldy, warm, airless room for two nights. Never ever again.
