27 Princess Royal House - Ground Floor Apartment

Lovely period property in a good location, not too far from a lovely walk down to the esplanade through the Italian gardens. Close to corner shops, takeaways, cafes and pubs. Plenty of parking directly outside, 3 hours free which helped when we arrived at our pre approved check in time of 2pm, because the cleaners were still in the flat 🥹

Only 2 dining chairs and forks, so we actually bought some forks from a charity shop. Remnants of previous guests (maltesers on the floor in the back bedroom, sanitary towel backing on the floor, sock in the main bedroom drawers, and half a tub of ice cream in the freezer). Heating was a struggle to get right, it was either on or off so being such a large space with high ceilings it became very hot / cold quickly.

Bathroom door would not open when we first arrived. Had to get someone to come and sort it out as we did not want to damage it. Could not turn heating on when we first arrived, as it looked like previous guests had disabled the heating on the boiler during the summer months. Had to get someone out to sort it. Curtains in the lounge and one of the bedrooms did not fully close due to faulty curtain rails. Had to close the bedroom curtains with one of my wife's hair clips, otherwise bright light from a street light would have made the bedroom way to brightly lit. Shower plug / drain clogged with hair and plastic razor guard. First morning managed to flood bathroom floor due to this.

Good location, good value

Lovely old building with plenty of space for 4 of us. 2 lovely bedrooms with modern bathroom and a walk in shower. Good sized kitchen. Central for both North and South Beaches.

Due to very light coloured sofas and carpet there were some stains, so probably not the best colour for renting out. This however didn’t distract from enjoying our stay, and sitting in the living room with the sun shining in was so relaxing.

The apartment was great, it was clean, the beds were so comfy, the location was good.

Noisy neighbours, lots of banging.

Clean very tidy, fluffy towels, everything you need for a great stay, near beach and shops

Only thing I would suggest is mattress protectors for both beds. Not sure if the owners were aware?

The front and inner door were not locking not sure if you are aware of this but could be a security issue, also the toilet seat was not on when we got there and hubby had to get his tools out and mend it cleaning staff must of been aware apart from that experience was great
