Amazing place in the middle of the jungle. Looks much better then on the pictures. Good food, lovely facilities, beautiful rooms. Perfect place to find peace. Lovely hotel manager!

- it was sometimes difficult to communicate with the waiters/waitresses (still they where all kind and lovely) -the coffee could be stronger but it’s common for Sri Lanka (better order tea)

The architecture is very beautiful but when we arrived, there was an extreme chemical smell of mothballs (especially in the room). After 2 days, we had to leave because we got too sick for the first time in 25 days: headache, nausea , cramps, eye irritation… apparently a reaction to the toxic naphthalene in mothballs. We were sick for another couple of days. The disgusting smell was in every fiber of our luggage and clothes (mothballs change into gas and when used in large amounts, it gets into fibers) and took us 2 days of constantly cleaning them to get rid of it. I told the manager mothballs are toxic for themselves and their guests ( I thought they didn’t know) and if they used alternatives for upcoming guests we wouldn’t write this in our review. She would immediately speak to her manager. When I asked for an update a few days later, she told me they’re still trying to find what could have been the cause of the sickness?? I started reading the reviews and read that guests had already told them this so they already knew this but don’t change it. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast (the menu said it was a combination of 5 dishes rice with curry). He only got rice and maple sirup. We asked where the curry was and she said: we wanted to see if you would like this first??? So you’re waiting for guests to complain about the food before giving them what they pay for (3500 rupees)?? They also didn’t serve the included fruit platter until we asked it.. The fact that you still use products knowing it’s toxic, is really disturbing… Sustainability is not their vision at all but just a commercial scam.

Beautiful facilities in the jungle forest - very peaceful and serene. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, and I loved the room. The garden is incredible and you really feel immersed in nature.

I would have liked to see more plant-based dishes with lots of fruits and vegetables on the menus. Coming from the west, I wasn't interested in having typical western dishes as featured on the dinner menu - but the staff were super accomodating and prepared a delicious Sri Lankan meal.

Everything! It’s hidden in the middle of the nature next to a beautiful river. The interior and architecture of the accommodation blend beautifully in the green area. You’re really in the nature, with plants, bushes, creeks, trees and cute animals sticking out everywhere. At the same time you have all the conveniences of a luxurious and gorgeously designed lodge. Just as the place itself, the surrounding area is amazing. There are stunning waterfalls and river spots nearby. Walking around is convenient as there are barely any cars on the roads. The staff is amazing. Helpful and kind in a serene way. Honestly the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka, wished we could stay longer. We hope to come back. Visit it now before it becomes too popular.

The property is located in a iconic location and the rooms were very comfortable . Its good escape location to relax your mind

The wash room biding showers are leaking , at arrival time when we inquire about lunch the staff was like the kitchen was closed after an argument we got our lunch , When we inquire about a BBQ the chef was saying the property is busy if so they should not take guest if they cant handle what i saw was chef was hanging around the phone all the time The manager lady does not know anything about hotel management she is also busy with her phone I would recommend the owner to look into these things as its a jewel
